Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique, “May Allah be pleased with him” (First part)
Keywords: Abdullah Ibn Abi Qahafa, Abu Bakr Siddique and Atiq.
Abstract: The personality of Sayyidna Hazrat Amirul Momineen Abu Bakr Siddique, may God be pleased with him, is known and evident to everyone and the Islamic Ummah. According to the opinion of the majority of Islamic scholars, he is the best creatures after the Prophets, peace and blessings be upon them.
He is the first rightful caliph of the Prophet of Islam, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and the friend of the cave and one of the ten those were given the good news of heaven. About his character and the status of his family, we wrote in an article titled “the biography of Umm al-Mu’minin Ayesha Siddiqa, may God be pleased with her”; but in short, his name is Abdullah, and his nickname is Abu Bakr.
    His name and lineage:
His nickname was Siddiq and Atiq. He is from Bani Tamim, and Bani Tamim is one of the branches of the Quraysh tribe. So, he is Qureshi. He was one of the nobles of Quraysh and had a lot of wealth and honor. He was a scholar of al-Ansab (genealogy), and he knew the Arab ancestry more than anyone else and was an extremely eloquent person.
    Birth of Abu Bakr Siddique
He was born in the year of the Amolfeel and a few months after birth of the blessing of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. His mother, umm al-Khair Salmi, is the daughter of Sakhr and one of the first people who converted to faith in Arqam’s house.
His father, Abu Qahafa, believed very late. Hazrat Abu Bakr died at the age of 63, the same age at which the Prophet (peace be upon him) died, and he died on Monday, which is the same day that the Prophet (peace be upon him) died.
This was the result of following the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in his life, that God made him a follower of the Prophet even in his death.
Here, I would like to point out an important and interesting point, and that is Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, started learning science when he was thirty-eight years old. Therefore, a pious young man, when he sees that his age has increased, should not despair of learning the Qur’an and the sciences of Sharia.
He had two nicknames: 1. Siddique; 2. Atiq.
It has been said that in Ignorance time and before the Prophet’s mission (because he was a very honorable, free and chosen person and had never worshiped idols) his title was Atiq, because a noble object is called “Mu’tiq” and because he is a free and honorable people, he was called Atiq.
And he earned the title of Sadiq because of this; He was the first person to acknowledge the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the news of their going to Me’raj and Asra’, on the day when the people of Makkah denied him, for this reason, the Prophet honored him with the title of Siddiq.
He was a very truthful and honest person, and most of all, he acknowledged the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in all affairs. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave him the title of Siddiq (Truthful).
As soon as Abu Bakr Siddique, may Allah be pleased with him, was informed about the Prophet’s mission, he converted to Islam without asking for a reason or a miracle.
In those dangerous days before Hijrah, when professing Islam was a very difficult task and synonymous with putting one’s hand in a dragon’s mouth, inviting and encouraging people to Islam was the work of Sadiq Akbar.
When Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique converted to Islam, in addition to his business property, he presented forty thousand dirhams in cash and assets to the service of the Messenger of God and spent it for the spread of Islam.
After he converted to Islam, Hazrat Abu Bakr built a mosque in front of his house, which is the first mosque and school built in Islam. Every morning, they sat in this mosque and recited the Holy Quran. Hearing the Holy Qur’an from the words of Abu Bakr (Siddique), the listeners flocked and some of them were very impressed; therefore, seeing this sight, the infidels used to cause trouble every day.
The character of Siddique, may Allah be pleased with him
The Holy Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, says: The most honest person in faith is Abu Bakr Siddique, and if the faith of the Ummah is placed on one end of the scale and the faith of Abu Bakr on the other end, the faith of Abu Bakr will be preferred.
He also says: Abu Bakr did not overtake you by praying and fasting a lot; rather, he overtook you with what was in his heart; so, the key to Abu Bakr’s character is the love of truth; If he found the truth, he would sacrifice his life and blood.
When the truth appeared in the person of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he sacrificed his life for the sake of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and when the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, joined Rafiq al-Ala, Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, was the only person who had a clear vision. When the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the code of truth, he sacrificed everything he had.
After the mission, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered Islam to him and he converted to Islam without any hesitation.
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says in this regard: I spoke to everyone about Islam, he pondered and doubted; Except Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him. The first man to convert to Islam was Abu Bakr Siddique.
Siddiq’s response to the invitation of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was not simple or hasty or lack of vision; rather, it was a quick response to the truth, and immediate faith; That is why his heart was full of truth.
Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, started spreading Islam as soon as he heard a few words from the Prophet. In the first week, six of the ten people who were given the good news of heaven were converted to Islam by Abu Bakr, which they include:
    1. Saad bin Abi Waqqas may God be pleased with him.
    2. Zubair bin Awam, may God be pleased with him.
    3. Talha bin Ubaidullah, may Allah be pleased with him.
    4. Abd al-Rahman bin Auf, may God be pleased with him.
    5. Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah may Allah be pleased with him.
    6. Uthman bin Affan, may God be pleased with him.
