It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “One day of a just Imam’s governance is better than sixty years of worship, and the just enforcement of one of the prescribed punishments of Islamic law (hudud) on earth is more purifying and blessed than forty years of rainfall upon it.”
