The Biography of the sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid, MAPH” (Part 41)
Khalid’s letters to all the rulers of Fars and Iran
Allamah Abu Zaid Shalabi, may Allah have mercy on him, writes: When Hazrat Syedna Khalid, MAPH, finished his continuous conquests, he wanted to bring the Iranians and Persians to their senses and make them understand that resistance, war and standing in front of the great army of Islam is enough. No one can stop the conquests of this army and Allah’s victory, therefore, it is better that they lay down their weapons, believe and enjoy the advantages and equality of Islam. If they do not believe, they should at least accept the payment of Jizya; otherwise, the glorious and well-armed army of Islam will destroy everyone. In this context, Hazrat Syedna Khalid, MAPH, wrote two letters, the text of which is as follows:
The first letter reached the rulers of Iran by the hands of one of the people of Hira:
In the name of Allah
It is a letter from Khalid Ibn Walid to the rulers of Fars.
but then, Thanks to Allah who has messed up your system and made your plans and conspiracies invalid and made discord and division prevail over you. If Allah did not cause you such calamities, you would be more miserable. Believe! We have nothing to do with you and your lands, we will pass you by and go somewhere else. If you do not accept this invitation, you will inevitably be defeated by those who love death as much as you love life.
The second letter from harqlas reached the border guards of Iran
In the name of Allah
This letter is from Khaled Ibn Walid to the border guards of Iran.
Become a Muslim to be safe and healthy! Otherwise, pay the Jizya! I will treat you as a person under Islamic rule; Otherwise, I will attack you with an army that loves death as much as you love wine.
When a person looks at the trust of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and sees their self-confidence, he realizes how much zeal and courage they had that sometimes their courage prevailed over their zeal and sometimes their zeal prevailed over their courage. They were not afraid of any blamer and were an example of the Qur’anic verse: «وَلَا یَخَافُونَ لَوْمَة لَائِمٍ». They were not afraid of any government or superpower and they were not afraid of the modern weapons of that time; rather, they challenged the superpowers of the world, and threatened them with open chest and complete calmness.
Another benefit that can be obtained from these two letters is that Hazrat Syedna Khalid, MAPH, sent the first letter to the rulers of Iran and spoke a little about the gentleness of the work; But he sent the second letter to the border guards of Iran and without any preamble he got into the essence of the matter and warned them.
This also indicates the vigilance and cleverness of Hazrat Syedna Khalid, MAPH.
What was the response of the rulers of Fars to these letters?
It is stated in the book (Khalid Saifullah) that the Iranians did not give such a positive response to Syedna Khalid, MAPH; rather, they pretended that they still have the ability to fight against the lions of Islam.
A year passed, the region of Hira and the conquered lands were still under the control of Islam, and the divine decrees were enforced there, and the remaining regions that had made peace also paid their jizya.
At the same time, Ardeshir, the king of Iran, died, and since no suitable person could be found from the great Kesra family who could take over the affairs, the differences between the Persians and the Ajam’s of that country intensified.
But when they realized that a great danger (Islamic army) is surrounding them that will come today or tomorrow, they all agreed and responded negatively to Khalid’s letters, which were not devoid of benevolence, advice and justice.
At that time, everything from the region of Hira to the Tigris River was under the control of Muslims. The other side of the Tigris had not yet been conquered, and the Iranians had no choice but to defend the lands of the Tigris and Madian; they did not allow Muslims to enter this land.
Appointing a temporary supervisor for Iran
After reading the letters of Hazrat Syedna Khalid, MAPH, the Iranians preferred to put aside their internal differences and unanimously appoint one person as the caretaker and temporary head for the administration of the Country, therefore, after consultation and exchange of votes, they chose Farrokhzad son of Bandwan as the King of Iran, and everyone obeyed him.
