The Biography of the Sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid, MAPH” (Part 40)
Behavior of Hazrat Khalid with the people of Hira
When the border guard of Hira (Azadba) escaped, Khalid went to the land of Hira, the people of that land, seeing Khalid and the army of Islam, built a barricade in their houses and watched the army of Islam from above.
Khalid, MAPH, first invited them to Islam; But they did not accept it; Then he invited them to give jizya to the Islamic government; But they still hesitated, until the battle and campaign of war was proposed for them, they also accepted it and prepared.
Khalid, MAPH, appointed various commanders for this war, one of whom was a person named “Zarar Ibn Azur”, when he realized that the people of “Hira” were throwing stones at the Muslims from the top of their houses and temples, he also ordered his groupو to shoot arrow at them.
The Muslims also started the war and shot, and finally they were able to capture all their houses, buildings and temples.
Ahl al-Hira’s negotiation with Khalid, MAPH
Many of the people of Hira were killed and those who survived told the Muslims to take us to Khalid, MAPH, we want to negotiate with him.
The Muslims took them to Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, he reprimanded and blamed them and said to them: “Woe to you! I do not know what nation you are?! If you are Arab; So how do you show hatred and malice towards Arabs? If you are Ajam; So how do you avoid justice and fairness? Therefore, choose one of these three ways: either become a Muslim, or pay jizya, or prepare for war; But know this! I swear to Allah, we have come to you with such an army that death is dearer to them than life to you.”
Finally, the people of “Hira” accepted the payment of jizya and made peace with Khalid for “one hundred and seventy thousand” dirhams and presented him with gifts. If the description of the peace agreement is as follows:
(In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Most Merciful, this is the agreement that Khalid, MAPH, made with Udi and Amr (the two sons of Udi), Amr Ibn Abdul Masih, Iyas Ibn Qubaisa and Hayri Ibn Akal, the representatives of the people of Hira, and the people of Hira are also satisfied with this peace. And they ordered everyone to adhere to this peace and pay “one hundred and ten thousand dirhams” [and in a narration one hundred and seventy thousand dirhams] and this jizya is accepted from their own hands and from the hands of the priests and their group as a reward; of course some people pay it They are exempted, which are: those who do not have power and do not own anything, they have imprisoned themselves in order to stay away from the world, and it is necessary for the Muslim warriors to protect the people; if they do not act to protect and defend them, in this case they can also not pay anything for the Muslims. If the people of Hira betray the people of Islam by their words or deeds, the Muslims are also responsible.
