The Biography of the sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid” MAPH (Part 39)
Khalid, MAPH, in the land of “Amghishia” and “Hira”
Allamah Shalbi, may Allah have mercy on him, writes: “Amghishia” was the name of a city at that time, of which the Elis region was one of its functions. The people of that area fought alongside the infidels in the battle of Elis against the Islamic army, which resulted in another war called “Amaghisya”.
Imam Abu Rabi Kalai, may Allah have mercy on him, writes: «
Translation: The number of people killed in the Battle of Alice [discussed in the previous section] reached 70,000 people, all of whom were from the Amghishia region.
A famous poet named Aswad Ibn Qutbah wrote about that war: We killed seventy thousand of the infidels, the rest of their war was just a result of their obedience and subjugation, except for the people of Alis, all the fighters and anyone who made the dust of war irregular, were among the dead.
Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, as soon as he finished the battle of Elis, ordered all his troops to attack the people of Amghishia and overthrow their rebellion and destroy everything they have.
When the Amghishians learned about this, they immediately fled and took refuge in the areas known as “Sawad Iraq”.
The Muslims and Mujahideen of Islam seized this opportunity and conquered that region and installed the flag of Islam there and obtained a lot of booty. As it is stated in some books that Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, obtained such a booty there that he had rarely seen, the share of each of the mujahideen on horseback reached 1,500 dirhams.
He divided the booty and sent the khums to Dar al-Khilafah (Madinah al-Munawarah). When the Caliph of the Muslims, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (MAPH) heard about this conquest and the acquisition of booty, he shouted with joy and said: «یا معشر قريش عدا أسدُكم على الأسد فغلبه على خراذيله أعجزت النساء أن ينسأن بمثل خالد.» “O congregation of Quraysh! Your Lion (Khalid Ibn Walid) attacked the Lion of Persia and defeated him. Your lion (Khalid ibn Walid) attacked the Persian lion and defeated him.
Allamah Shalabi writes: Meanwhile, he said a very beautiful sentence: «أعجزت النساء أن یلدن مثل خالد». (Women are unable to give birth to a man like Khalid.
Khalid, MAPH, in the land of “Hira”
“Hira” is located near the Euphrates River and its border guard was a person named “Azadbeh”, who was a selfish and arrogant person and was very sensitive to his place.
When Azadbe learned about the roaring flood of conquests of Hazrat Syedna Khalid, MAPH, he realized that Khalid would definitely come to me and would not leave me so easily, so he prepared himself for a great war with the Mujahideen of Islam. He prepared and consulted with his son on this matter and prepared him for this campaign and sent him in advance and him himself moved with a group behind him.
All the army of infidels and polytheists camped outside the city of Hirah, near the Euphrates River. Azadbeh ordered his son to change the course of the Euphrates so that Khalid and his troops were stuck in the mud and couldn’t reach us.
Azadbeh’s son changed the course of the water by his father’s order and its main course was filled with mud and subsidence.
Khalid, MAPH, who was not aware of this action, pushed the Islamic army with ships towards the Euphrates River; But unconsciously, he realized that the water was blocked, and all the ships were stuck in the mud. Khalid, MAPH, immediately moved with some of his troops towards the son of Azadbeh and confronted them and destroyed them all, and opened the waterway of the Euphrates River and the water started again on its way and the ships were able to continue on their way; Therefore, everyone camped near “Hira” in an area called “Najaf” and were preparing for Jihad with Azadbeh and his troops.
Allamah Kalai writes: «إنما جرأه على الهرب أن الخبر وقع إليه بموت أردشير وبمصاب ابنه» “When “Azadbeh” learned about the defeat of his son and Khalid’s encampment and on the other hand about the death of Ardeshir (King of Iran), all her hopes and dreams turned into despair, and he found no way but to escape. Therefore, this caused him to abandon the battle and run away.
