The Biography of the sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid, MAPH” (Part 32)
Hazrat Khalid in the land of Iraq Ajam
In the previous section, we have discussed about the contributions of Hazrat Syedna Khalid, MAPH, in various series and wars, during the time of the first Caliph of the Muslims; Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique, may Allah be pleased with him.
Now we want to discuss about his conquests and battles in the land of Iraq. If these struggles also took place during the Siddiqi era; but he has shown a lot of bravery in this area, so it is appropriate to allocate separate sections for them.
Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, had such an Allah-given talent and ability that he was truly exemplified by the words of the Holy Prophet, MAPH, who said: “Khalid is a sword from Allah’s swords.”
Yea, in truth he was a sword that came out of scabbard, tearing without ceasing, in whatever direction he was driven, he would at once find himself there, in whatever field he entered; surely divine victory was his companion and friend.
The letter of Abu Bakr Siddique, MAPH, to Khalid MAPH
Hazrat Siddique Akbar, may Allah be pleased with him, had fully observed these characteristics in him and had experienced him every time, this made him participate in bigger missions; When the issue of apostasy was over and the sedition of the claimants of prophet hood was extinguished, the Muslims traveled safely to different Arab regions and settled in many regions of Iraq. As they had approached the areas near Iran, and even many Muslim heroes such as Al-Musni, Al-Mazoor, Salma and Harmela were stationed in those areas, this made Hazrat Siddique Akbar, MAPH, take advantage of this opportunity and for the steps of victory and Conquest, take honest steps; Therefore, with the advice of the elders of the Ummah, he wrote a letter to Hazrat Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, and ordered him to move to Iraq.
Preparation of Hazrat Khalid, for war with the people of Iraq and Iran
Allamah Abu Zaid Shalabi, may Allah have mercy on him, writes in his book: Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, answered the call of Seddiq and wrote a letter to the heroes who lived in the land of Iraq to gather all their troops on the borders of Sind and India, an area called “Abla”, and give special discipline; Until his own army joins them.
Imam Tabari, may Allah have mercy on him, writes in his history: After the letter of the first caliph of the Muslims reached Hazrat Khalid, he began to gather a well-equipped and dignified army; until more than ten thousand skilled and heroic warriors joined him.
Each of the four commanders and heroes who had been stationed in that land before had two thousand men, and all of them with the army of Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, reached eighteen thousand men.
