The biography of the sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid, MAPH” (Part 30)
The arrival of Khalid, MAPH, to the battlefield
Imam Tabari, may Allah have mercy on him, writes in his history book: “When Hazrat Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, reached Yamamah and saw situation, he blamed Sharhbil.”
Briefly, he did not start the war, until Hazrat Siddique Akbar, may Allah be pleased with him, sent an army of several thousand people under the command of Hazrat Salit, may Allah be pleased with him, to help them in order to watch over them from behind the front and not let anyone threaten them from the other side.
With this situation, Hazrat Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, moved towards the enemy’s areas with his army. When Musilamah Kazab learned about this action, he camped in an area called “Aqraba” with a force of 40,000 people. Muhkam Ibn Tufail was the commander of the right wing, and “Nahar al-Rijal Ibn Anfo” was the commander of the left wing of the army, and everyone waited for the confrontation with the army of Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him.
The beginning of the war between the Muslims and the followers of the false idol
Finally, the army of Hazrat Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, faced each other in the region of “Aqraba”, in a village called Abaz, a very difficult battle took place, both forces were very strong, both sides were fighting because of their belief in the mission, Musilamah had penetrated the falsehood so deep in the minds and veins of his people, which made them ready for such an exhausting battle.
From both sides, countless people were wounded and martyred. The reciters and memorizers of the divine word were all in the same group, and the Arabs and the newly Muslim villagers and those who had no faith were also together with them.
When the group of reciters and memorizers felt that the Arabs were failing in the order of the army and the war and were protesting and lax, they told Hazrat Khalid to separate them from us, so that the order would not be disturbed.
Hazrat Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, was also noticed this issue and was sure that if we proceed in the same way, the fear of failure will be created for Muslims; Therefore, He consulted with the elders of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, and then announced that everyone should join his tribe and people and not to be lazy.
The fight between the sword of Allah Khalid and the whip of the devil Musilamah,
Allamah Shalabi, may Allah have mercy on him, writes: “Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, did not stop at dividing and separating the members of his army; Rather, with thoughtfulness and deep thinking, he realized that Musailamah’s companions do not care about dying and being wounded and fight fiercely; Therefore, he came to the conclusion that until Musailamah himself is not killed, his allies will not get tired of the war; Therefore, he revealed himself completely and entered the battlefield like an eagle, chanting slogan-like poems and whispering the following:
أنا ابن أشیاخ و سیفي السخت                                   أعظم شيئ حین یأتیک النفت
It means I am the son of great men and my winning sword. This sword is the most magnificent thing that turns towards you when its angry.
Khalid, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, called Musailamah to fight, and he gave a positive answer in order to protect her reputation. Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) offered him his favorite things, he made Exceuses and ran away in order to consult with revelation and the people of heaven, Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) noticed his escape and attacked him from behind; But he survived and shouted to his companions to completely attack the Muslims. Hazrat Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) also issued an order all the Muslims to attack, and as a result, the victory belonged to Muslims, and the army of disbelief and atheism was defeated. They retreat in one of the gardens of “Abaz” village and locked its door; But the Muslims did not hesitate and attacked inside the garden, and a fierce battle broke out there, and many of the soldiers of Musailamah were killed, and some of them fled outside the garden, and there the Muslims chased them all and killed them.
In this war, 21,0000people from Musailamah’s companions were killed, 7,000 people in the first stage, 7,000 people in the garden and 7,000 people when they escaped from the garden.
The next section will discuss how and by whom Musailamah was killed.
