The Biography of the sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid” MAPH (Part 29)
Continuation of Hazrat Khalid’s encounter with Musailmah
As mentioned in the previous section; Musailmah was introduced as a false claimant of the Prophet Hood and one of the severe enemies of the Holy Prophet. In this regard, he did not spare any efforts and as much as he could, he pressured and annoyed the beloved Prophet of hearts, peace and blessings be upon him.
The beloved Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, tried many times to stop him from this sedition; but day by day he became stronger and the people of “Yamame” joined him more. It was at that time that the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed away and joined his lord (Allah).
Allamah Abu Zaid Shalabi, may Allah have mercy on him, writes in his book: “When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, died, the evil and sedition of Musailmah became more dangerous and his work increased. The foundation of his evil and sedition was a man named “Nahar al-Rijal Ibn Answah”. This man had already migrated to the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and had learned the Quran and religious issues. Then the Holy Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent him as a teacher to the people of “Yamamah” to neutralize the false statements of Musalimah and help Muslims. But instead of fulfilling his mission, he confirmed Musalimah and shared his claim of prophet hood with him.
For this reason, the people of “Yamamah” turned to “Nahar al-Rajal” and accepted his testimony in favor of Musalimah. His evil and calamity for the people of Bani Hanifa was greater and more dangerous than anything.
Musalimah honored and bowed to him a lot and implemented his plans and orders.
Dr. Ali Mohammad Salabi writes: “The sedition [of Nahar al-Rajal] was more dangerous than the sedition of Musailmah himself; Because he had become a Muslim, had emigrated and had learned the Qur’an, despite this, he affirmed Musalimah and called out that: O people! Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has made Musailmah a partner with him in the work of prophet hood, come and pledge allegiance to him and defend him.
It is mentioned in a hadith that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had previously predicted the sedition of “Nahar al-Rijal” to his companions. As Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with her, says: “One day I sat with a group along with the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and Nahar al-Rijal Ibn Answah was also sitting with us. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Surely there is a man among you whose tooth in hell will be bigger than Mount Uhud.” After that, I saw that all the members of that group passed away and only Nahar al-Rajal and I were left. I was afraid that maybe the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, meant me, until I was sure and saw that he went to Musailmah and joined him and testified to his prophet hood. Therefore, from this point of view, his sedition was greater than Musailmah’s own sedition.”
The army of Abu Bakr Siddiq, MAPH, against the army of Musailamah Kazab
Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique, may Allah be pleased with him, became the true Caliph of Muslims after the Holy Prophet of Islam, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed away. He felt the danger of Musailmah very much and knew that he was expanding and improving day by day; therefore, it should be neutralized for the time being, so that it does not trap the weak believers in its lies.
He equipped a strong and powerful army under the command of Hazrat Ikramah, may Allah be pleased with him, and ordered him to move towards Yamama and not to start the war until Sharhbil Ibn Hasna joined you with his army.
Thinking that this is a very simple and easy task, Ikrama thought to himself that I should attack Yamama before the arrival of Sharhbil and take the honor by killing Musailmah. Therefore, he started the war; but unfortunately, he failed and retreated.
Sending Hazrat Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) to deal with Musailmah
When the news of Ikrama’s defeat reached Hazrat Siddique Akbar (RA), he immediately spoke to Khalid (RA) to put an end to this sedition and not allow it to progress further, and he wrote a letter to Sharhbil (RA) that he should not approach Yamama until Khalid arrived with his army, and not start a war; But he, like Ikrama, did not pay attention to this important matter of Khalifa Sidiq Akbar, may Allah be pleased with him, and started the war with a justification and reason, as a result, he was also defeated, and the battlefield remained empty for Musailmah’s army, and their spiritual strength increased.
Hazrat Siddique Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) prepared a well-equipped and large army for Hazrat Khaled (may Allah be pleased with him), which was more than thirteen thousand fighting men, many of whom were memorizers and reciters of the Qur’an, and he also made the arrangement completely by himself, so that Hazrat Khaled (may Allah be pleased with him) himself in was placed in front of the army, the command of the right wing of the army was under the responsibility of Hazrat Zaid bin Khattab, and the command of the left wing was in the hands of Abu Huzayfah, may Allah be pleased with him.
