Abdullah ibn Masoud (RA) said, “Had the people of knowledge preserved the honor of knowledge and placed it with those who were worthy of it, they would have attained leadership over the people of their time through it. But they offered it to the people of worldly interests in order to obtain some of their worldly gains, and thus they became insignificant in their eyes.” [1]
