Ascent from Love for the Prophet to Love for Allah (The 7th and Final Part)
Belief in the Sinfulness of Ayesha Is an Insult to the Pure Status of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)
As mentioned earlier, there are still ignorant individuals in society today who, with utmost stubbornness and ignorance, do not accept the revelation of the verses of Surah An-Nur in defense of “Ayesha Siddiqah (MABH)” and instead base their arguments on reasons inspired by Satan himself.
Here a question arises: Do these opponents truly believe in the Omniscience and Awareness of Almighty Allah? And do they truly believe in the Prophethood of Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH)?
Now, how is it possible – God forbid – that an impure and sinful woman would be wedded to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)? Did Almighty Allah not know that this woman would commit such a sin in the future? Why then did He permit His Messenger to marry her, when the Prophet (PBUH) was not under any pressure or compulsion?!
Allah, the Most Merciful, said: “الطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَالطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَاتِ” Translation: “Pure women are for Pure men, and Pure men are for Pure women.”
Umar Farooq (MABH) said: “O Messenger of Allah! Do you think that Allah the Exalted would assign to you a wicked and immoral woman as your wife? You, upon whose blessed body not even a fly would land—how could it be possible that your wife would be impure?”
Usman (MABH) also said: “O Messenger of Allah! I recognize Ayesha’s innocence from your shadow. The One who kept your shadow from falling on the ground would never allow impurity to enter your household.”
Indeed, to believe that “Ayesha Siddiqah (MABH)” committed a sin is a great insult to the sacred position of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), for in the honorable household of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), who is the purest of all creation, only a pure, sincere, and noble woman is befitting and worthy.
Insulting the Mother Is an Unforgivable Sin:
Allah the Exalted said: “النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ” Translation: “The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are their mothers.”
According to this blessed verse, all the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) are spiritual mothers of the believers. For this reason, after the Prophet (PBUH), it was prohibited for anyone from the Ummah to marry them.
Now let us reflect a little—would any sane person accuse their own mother of sin? If someone believes that the mother of the Believers was sinful, can such a person truly be called a believer?
Indeed, believing in the impurity of “Ayesha Siddiqah (MABH)” is to deny several verses of the Holy Qur’an, to insult the sacred status of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), and to slander a kind, sincere, and pure mother. Is this not an unforgivable sin?
Ayesha! The Bitter Days of Separation Have Ended
“Ayesha Siddiqah (MABH)” bid farewell to the Prophet (PBUH) while she was still in her third decade of life. Truly, it is extremely difficult, bitter, and unbearable for a lover to lose their beloved at such a young age.
With the passing of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), she turned her heart toward her loyal companion, her confidant through youth and old age, the Companion of the Cave – Abu Bakr Siddiq (MABH) – and found solace in seeing him, as he carried the fragrance of the Prophet (PBUH), had been deeply loved by the Prophet, and had adopted his character and conduct.
However, fate had other plans—it seemed destined to add to the sorrow of this kind and loving mother. Ayesha’s source of comfort in Abu Bakr (MABH), as the successor of the Prophet (PBUH), did not last long. After two years, she also lost her compassionate and gentle father.
Ayesha (MABH) was now alone and without a supporter. She had lost a husband like Muhammad (PBUH) and a father like Abu Bakr (MABH). What could provide her peace and solace at such a time? Could anything other than the love of Allah and connection with Him ease such suffering, pain, and grief?
Ayesha Siddiqah (MABH) lived nearly forty years after the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), dedicating herself during this time to the propagation of Islam, devoting her days and nights to religious service.
At last, the long wait came to an end. The Beloved Lord wished to bestow another mercy upon her—to end her waiting, to relieve her from all the hardship and suffering, and to reunite her with her honorable husband and compassionate father.
Indeed! “Ayesha Tayyibah (MABH)” passed away in the year 58 AH, on a Monday during the blessed month of Ramadan, at the age of 68, answering the call of her Lord and bidding farewell to this fleeting world and those she lived among.
The funeral prayer for this great woman of Islam, the mother of the Believers and the wife of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), was led by Abu Hurairah (MABH), and her blessed body was buried at night in accordance with her will.
Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery of al-Baqi by: Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, Qasim ibn Muhammad, Abdullah ibn Abdur-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr, and Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr.
And thus, this kind and compassionate mother departed for the eternal abode, leaving behind a world of knowledge, character, humility, piety, and asceticism for us.
Indeed! We must learn from her sincerity, patience, and steadfastness—so that perhaps she may show us kindness, not turn her gaze away from us on the Day of Judgment, and not leave us alone with our sins.
