Responsibility and Duty Awareness in Islam (part Nine)
Responsibility towards nature
Nature is one of the most prominent divine signs that thinking and reasoning about the elements and their relationship with each other leads man to a better understanding of the world of existence, and finally to the knowledge of the creator of the universe and his oneness; Therefore, water, soil, animals, seas, rivers, mountains, valleys, reed fields, mines, forests, pastures and other natural resources do not belong to one group or nationality and people of one time, but are considered the national capital and part of Human natural resources. These resources are the wealth that Allah Almighty has provided for human use, and each person is responsible for its protection.
Any action that endangers the health of nature is strongly condemned. The importance of planting trees, not cutting down trees and not hunting animals for the sake of fun, shows the responsibility of a Muslim towards nature. Before the start of the wars, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, ordered the Islamic army to be righteous and advised them to observe things such as not cutting fruit trees.
Reflecting on these important points, especially next to war orders, shows the importance of preserving nature from the point of view of the holy law of Islam; Therefore, nature and the environment are a gift from Allah and we are all responsible for it and we must be diligent in preserving it; Because just as the beautiful attractions of nature, such as forests, plains, deserts, flowers and plants, are important factors in creating peace and vitality in humans, the irrational and unprincipled destruction of these blessings of Allah also means destroying the vitality and security of people’s minds, leading them to sadness, disappointment and depression.
conclusion
The things that were expressed are the valuable teachings of Islam and this is the sense of responsibility and dutifulness in Islam that the early Muslims of Islam knew very well. We are responsible for ourselves, our loved ones, our living environment and even the things we have; Therefore, when tasks are entrusted to us, we should try to do them in the best way as much as possible and avoid being negligent.
Accepting responsibility is not an easy task but remember that we are not born to do simple things. We come to want, to try, to dedicate, to achieve and to satisfy. So, accepting responsibility, no matter how hard it is, gives us satisfaction and that’s why it’s necessary.
