Hazrat Firouz Dilami, “May Allah Be Pleased with Him” (Part 13)
The Victory Letter of the Muslims and the Privilege of Firouz Dilami, May Allah Be Pleased with Them.
The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was informed about the murder of Aswad
The Mujahideen who died in Islam wrote news of the success of Muslims against the enemies of Islam in a letter and sent it to the presence of the Prophet, peace be upon him. However, previously, Almighty Allah had informed them through a revelation on the same night that Aswad was killed.
Imam Saif Ibn Umar Tamimi, the master of Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from Abu al-Qasim, that his Sheikh, Alauddin Ibn Zayd, heard from Abdullah Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: «أتى الخبر إلى النبي صلىاللهعليهوسلم من السماء الليلة التي قتل فيها العنسي ليبشرنا، فقال: قتل العنسي البارحة، قتله رجل مبارك من أهل بيت مباركين.» Translation: “On the same night that Aswad Anasi was killed, the news of his death came from the sky to the Holy Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him, by Gabriel. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: Last night, Aswad Anasi was killed by a blessed man from a blessed family.”
Hazrat Muhammad, peace be upon him, meant Hazrat Firouz Dilami, may Allah be pleased with him, by this statement. Such kind words were spoken by the Prophet (peace be upon him) about him, which are recorded in the pages of history and will always remain in the memory of Muslims.
Imam Ibn Athir, may Allah have mercy on him, also mentioned a tradition in his book: «هو قاتل الأسود العنسي الذي ادعى النبوة باليمن وحديثه في الأشربة صحيح ولما أراد قتل الأسود اتفق هو وداذويه وقيس بن المكشوح على ذلك فدخل فيروز عليه فقتله وكان قتله قبل وفاة النبي وأتى الوحي إلى النبي بقتله وهو مريض قبيل موته فأخبر بقتله وقال قتله العبد الصالح فيروز الديلمي.» Translation: “Firouz was the murderer of the false claimant of prophethood (Aswad Anasi), and his hadith in Ashrabah is correct. When he decided to kill Aswad, he agreed with Qais and Dazwayh and then entered Aswad’s room and killed him. This murder happened before the death of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, and the news of it reached the Prophet, peace be upon him, through revelation. At that time, the Prophet, peace be upon him, was ill when he said: ‘Aswad was killed by the good and righteous servant of Allah, Firouz Dilami.'”
In this narration, the Prophet (peace be upon him) used the term (al-Abd al-Saleh) for Firouz Dilami, which is also one of the privileges he achieved.
In his history, Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned Hazrat Firouz (MAPH) under the name of «قاتل الکذاب», which means the killer of someone who was a liar. He also quoted this name from Hazrat Umar, stating: «عن المؤذن قال خرجت مع فيروز بن الديلمي في ألفين فأتيت عمر ثم أتاه فيروز فقال عمر: هذا فيروز قاتل الكذاب.» Translation: It is narrated by the Muezzin who says: “I and Firouz Dilami went out with two thousand troops, and then I went to Hazrat Umar and Firouz also came to him. Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: ‘This person is Firouz, the one who killed Aswad, a liar.'”
