Hazrat Firouz Dilami, May Allah Be Pleased with Him (Part 11)
Firouz Dilami, May Allah Be Pleased with Him, Facing Aswad Anasi
As mentioned in the previous section, Aswad Anasi was influenced by jinn and devils regarding the main issue. He held daily meetings, consulting with his relatives and confidants about this matter. He repeatedly summoned Firouz and his companions to his court to speak with them.
Finally, Aswad Anasi felt pressured by Firouz and his companions and threatened them. He also devised a plan to martyr Hazrat Firouz Dilami, may Allah be pleased with him.
In this section, we aim to discuss this matter more clearly, shedding light on the cleverness and intelligence of Hazrat Sayyedna Firouz Dilami, may Allah be pleased with him.
Aswad Anasi threatens Firouz Dilami with death!
They were consulting when suddenly Aswad appeared before them and at the same time, they had brought a hundred camels and cows to him; Without any pause or calculation, out of anger and hatred, he beheaded everyone and stopped so that their souls would go and rest. Qays says: “I have never seen anything more frightening and a more terrible day than this.”
Then Aswad turned to Firouz Dilami and said: «أحقٌ ما بلغني عنك؟ يا فيروز! لقد هممتُ أن أنحرك فألحقك بهذه البهيمة.» Translation: “O Firouz! Is this word that has reached me about you true that you want to attack me? Indeed, I have decided to slaughter you by the neck and then join you with these cattle.
Firouz Dilami said in his answer: «اخترتنا لصهرك وفضلتنا على الأبناء فلو لم‌تكن نبيا ما بعنا نصيبنا منك بشيء فكيف وقد اجتمع لنا بك أمر الآخرة والدنيا فلا تقبل علينا أمثال ما يبلغك فأنا بحيث تحب.» Translation: “O Aswad! You chose us as your relatives (you married my sister) and you gave us superiority over the Persian immigrants in Yemen. Therefore, if you were not the Prophet of Allah, we would not have sold our share to you in exchange for anything, while the affairs of this world and the hereafter depend on you (because you are the Prophet of Allah according to your own opinion). You have to accept it; I am the way you like it.
Aswad Anasi was pleased with this statement of Firouz and ordered him to distribute the meat of those animals among the people. He also separated everyone and distributed it among the poor people of Sana’a, and then he immediately went to Aswad. But when he arrived, he saw that one of the people was pushing Aswad against him and he was trying very hard in this direction. Aswad tells the man that he will kill him and his friends tomorrow and then looks back and notices Firouz standing there. Firouz pretends that he doesn’t know about the situation and immediately informs Aswad about how to divide the meats.
A serious decision to kill Aswad
After that, Firouz went to his friends and informed them about Aswad’s will. At that moment, they decided to go to the same woman (Zaz bint Shahr) again and raise this issue for her; Therefore, Firouz went to that woman and informed her about the situation.
That woman said to Firouz: «إنه ليس من الدار بيت إلا والحُرسُ محيطون به غير هذا البيت فأنّ ظهره إلى مكان كذا وكذا من الطريق فإذا أمسيتم فانقبوا عليه من دون الحرس وإني سأضع في البيت سراجا وسلاحا.» Translation: “As you know, there is no house here unless it is guarded by guards. However, there is also a house that doesn’t have a guard; because behind him is the way to such and such a place; Therefore, when the night comes, you can make a hole in his house from near the guards, and I will leave a lamp and a weapon in the house so that you can finish his work easily.”
When Firouz left the woman, Aswad faced him with a harsh and angry expression and said: “Why have you come to my family?” At that moment, that woman used her consciousness and screamed and terrified Aswad. If it wasn’t for his cry, Aswad would have killed Firouz.
After that, Firouz went to his companions and shouted: “Save me!” Save me!” and made them aware of the truth; Everyone was puzzled as to what to do now.
After a moment, that woman sent someone to them and said to them: «لا تنثنوا عما كنتم عازمين عليه.» Translation: “Don’t turn back from what you have decided and do it.”
