Despite the fact that Satanists do not believe in an afterlife, the Book of Account, or traditional concepts of heaven and hell, the term “hell” appears several times in their holy text, The Satanic Bible. This suggests that in the belief system of Satanists, hell exists in a sense distinct from the traditional religious understanding, which sharply contrasts with how hell is described in other religions. According to their beliefs, hell is viewed as the center of power and dominion of Satan, entirely under his control and rule.
The Satanic Bible states: “True worship is only due to the great Satan, who owns hell.”
Regarding the flames of hell, Satanists assert that these flames are not painful or burning to the human body in any way. In The Satanic Bible, it is noted: “Its flames burn intensely and remove impurities.”
Satanists believe that the prophets of God did not grasp the true meaning of hell. Anton LaVey writes: “The prophets who wrote the Bible did not understand the true meaning of hell.”
This sect considers hell to be the source of power and the center of Satan’s dominion. They describe hell as “a place of power, security, comfort, and pleasure.”
The Satanic Bible asserts that Satan and his blessings reside in hell. As such, Satanists consistently pray to Satan for assistance in reaching hell. One of their prayer’s states: “O Satan! O our great Lord! … Accept our obedience and worship to You and show us the way to hell with Your light! On the day of my death, you will see me patient; for I will hasten to welcome the eternal fire (hell) with full readiness.”
Satanists maintain that they are protected by the Great Satan in hell, while the inhabitants of heaven live in a constant state of fear and terror. Ultimately, they believe that it is the Satanists who, with the aid of the Great Satan, will attack the people of heaven and conquer it.
