The Biography of the sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid, MAPH” (Part 22)
The position of Bani Mustalaq after the end of the battle
After the conquest of the lands of Bani Mustalaq, all its inhabitants became Muslims and adhered to the divine commandments. The Holy Prophet, (PBUH), married Juwayriyeh, the daughter of one of the chieftains of Bani Mustalaq, during this campaign. This itself had a profound effect on the psyche of the people of that region, because now the Holy Prophet of Islam, PBUH, has a blood relationship with them and has found a way among them.
Bani Mustalaq became more aware and influenced by the good creativity and moral of the Prophet of Islam. Until everyone converted to Islam, and no one remained in disbelief.
What role did Hazrat Khalid play in this campaign?
From what is known, Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, had no role in this campaign; Because that expedition took place in the fifth year of the lunar calendar, while he converted to Islam before the conquest of Makkah in the seventh and eighth years of the Hijri. But after Bani Mustalaq became Muslims in the fifth year of Hijri, the Holy Prophet, PBUH, sent Khaled, may Allah be pleased with him, to carry out a mission there. As stated in the title below.
Sending Khalid Ibn Walid to Bani Mustalaq
After Bani Mustalq became Muslim, the Holy Prophet of Islam, PBUH, sent Hazrat Walid ibn Uqbah, may Allah be pleased with him, to collect zakat. Upon hearing this news, Bani Mustalq came out of the city and rushed to welcome Hazrat Walid. But he was frightened and thought that they had apostatized and had come out of the city with the intention of killing me, so he returned to Madinah and brought the news of their apostasy to the Holy Prophet. This time, the Holy Prophet, PBUH, sent Khalid Ibn Walid, may Allah be pleased with him, to the land of Bani Mustalaq to see if they adhere to the religion of Islam or not. After that, collect their zakat. Obviously, Hazrat Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, was very clever; Therefore, he went there with a large delegation and distributed all the members of his intelligence among the people, and he himself took care of their situation. Finally, his friends came and presented him with promising reports, and he also observed that the people are really adhere to the religion and rules of Islam. Therefore, he announced the collection of zakat.
When Hazrat Khalid collected the zakat property and took it with him to Madinah and came to the service of the Holy Prophet, PBUH, he explained the matter to the Prophet, PBUH, that everyone is happy and devoted to religion; It was there that this blessed verse was revealed: «يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَإٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَنْ تُصِيبُوا قَوْمًا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا عَلَى مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَادِمِينَ (O you who have believed! If a wicked person brings you news, do not accept it quickly; rather, investigate it so that you do not cause harm to a people due to ignorance and lack of knowledge, and then you regret and regret what you did.
From this event, it is understood that how much respect and competence did Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, have, that the Holy Prophet, PBUH, sent him to investigate this matter; Because he can handle this responsibility well and fulfill it in a good and correct way, if there is a need for war, he knows well how to fight, and if there is a need for peace or advice, he can still do it correctly.
