Biography of the sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid” (MAPH) (2nd part)
    Abstract:
In the first part, we discussed the birth, lineage, and Tribe of Hazrat Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him. Now, it’s time to explore Khalid’s manner to Islam before his conversion. Why did he harbor enmity against the Holy Prophet of Islam? And ultimately, what damage did he cause to the Muslims?
As previously mentioned, Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, displayed signs of genius from a young age, evident through his prestigious clan and renowned family.
Due to his family’s immense wealth, Hazrat Khalid didn’t have to engage in trade, agriculture, or any other industry. Instead, he focused on horse riding, warfare, wrestling, and fencing since childhood, gradually mastering combat skills and achieving victory in significant battles.
He possessed palpable compassion and zeal, but unfortunately, his early fervor conflicted with Islam and its practices. As a result, his courage and zeal were often misdirected towards anti-Islamic conflicts.
He held a prominent position among the polytheists of Makkah and played a key role in inflicting heavy losses on Muslims in battles like Uhud, Ahzab, and Hudaybiyah. His attack on the Muslims during the Battle of Uhud remains particularly renowned.
In this part of Hazrat Khalid’s life, may Allah be pleased with him, we delve into these incidents, aiming to draw a fitting conclusion.
Keywords: Khalid, enmity, intelligence, zeal, and horsemanship.
The secret of Khalid’s success on the battlefield
Due to his profound passion and expertise in warfare, Khalid bin Walid consistently excelled in battle. With his early involvement in horsemanship and battle command, he developed a knack for triumph.
Allameh Dr. Wahba Al-Zahili writes: “He never tasted defeat in any battle throughout his life, participating in around a hundred wars. This success can be attributed to his acute intellect, vast battlefield experience, and military expertise.” In his book, Sheikh Mohammad Akkad quotes Imam Ibn Abdul Bar Andalusi, stating: “His inclination towards horsemanship stemmed from belonging to the Khalid tribe, Bani Makhzoum, a distinguished Quraish tribe responsible for leading horsemen, thus granting him a superior position.”
Khalid’s Animosity towards Islam and Muslims
As mentioned in the first part, Khalid’s father, Walid bin Mughirah, vehemently opposed the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) throughout his life, engaging in enmity and persecution against him. Khalid, being the most zealous, strong, and proud, followed suit. Alongside their Quraysh leaders, they spearheaded aggression against Islam and Muslims, seeking to harm the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions. The ramifications of these hostilities were evident in decisive battles like Uhud.
