    Ginger: A Miraculous Plant in the Noble Qur’an and Science
    The benefits of ginger in the Noble Qur’an
    Ginger is mentioned in the Noble Qur’an as a beneficial substance:
    “وَیُسْقَوْنَ فِیهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنْجَبِیلًا [1]” Translation: “And there they will be given to drink a cup whose mixture is of ginger.”
    “إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ یشْرَبُونَ مِنْ كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا [2].” Translation: “Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup whose mixture is of camphor.”
    This mention indicates the importance of ginger in nutrition and physical health.
    Findings of traditional medicine
    According to sources of traditional medicine, ginger has the following effects:
    1. Warming and aiding digestion;
    2. A moderate laxative;
    3. Strengthening and anti-inflammatory;
    4. Beneficial for throat inflammation and colds;
    5. A strong pain reliever for joint and stomach pains.
    Ibn al-Qayyim (RA) writes: (“It is warming, aids digestion, softens the abdomen, and is beneficial for liver obstructions that arise from coldness and moisture. It removes heavy gas accumulation in the stomach and intestines and is suitable for livers and stomachs with a cold temperament.”) [3]
    Findings of contemporary science
    Modern medical research has also shown that ginger:
    1. Strengthens the heart muscle and improves blood circulation;
    2. Dilates blood vessels and arteries;
    3. Prevents platelet aggregation;
    4. Reduces blood pressure and cholesterol;
    5. Reduces joint inflammation;
    6. Is beneficial for the digestive system.
    These properties show that ginger, in addition to treating diseases, plays a preventive role and strengthens overall bodily health.
    Conclusion
    Scientific, historical, and religious examination shows that medicinal plants mentioned in the Noble Qur’an and the noble hadith, such as ginger and black seed, not only possess real therapeutic and preventive properties, but are also confirmed by contemporary scientific findings.
    Black seed as explained in the previous section; strengthens the immune system, inhibits the growth of microbes, and is beneficial for more than fifty types of diseases.
    Ginger strengthens the heart, blood vessels, and digestive system, and acts as an anti-inflammatory and preventive agent against chronic diseases.
    This harmony between contemporary scientific findings and religious texts is a clear example of the scientific and medical miracle of the Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah, and it demonstrates that the recommendations of the Noble Messenger (PBUH) for preserving human health remain valid and applicable to this day.
