The Appearance of the Jews in the Holy Quran (The 9th and final Part)
The Jewish sabotage and destructive activities against Muslims
A: Jewish beliefs
-
Hatred of Muslims:
Translation: “O Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) you will certainly find the Jews and those who associate others with Allah the most hostile people to the believers.” [Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse: 82]
-
Persecution of believers:
Translation: “(O believers) undoubtedly you will be tested regarding the giving of your wealth and lives, and (also) from those who were given the (heavenly) Book before you (Jews and Christians) and (also) from Those who associate others with Allah, you will hear much hurtful talk; (but) if you are patient and righteous, (it is more fitting; because) that (standing) shows (your) firm determination in matters”. [Surah Al-Imran, verse: 186]
-
Considering themselves the sons and friends of Allah:
Translation: “And the Jews and the Christians say: We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ones.” [Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse: 18]
-
Insolence towards Allah the Exalted:
Translation: “And the Jews say: The hand (power) of Allah is restricted.” [Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse: 64]
-
Rebellion and transgression:
Translation: “And We revealed to the Children of Israel in the Book (Torah) that you will certainly do mischief in the land twice and will certainly commit great transgression. So when the first of the two promises comes, We will raise against you a group of Our servants, mighty in power, to search through your homes (for your murder and plundering); and that was a promise which was fulfilled.” [Surah Al-Isra’, verse: 4-5]
-
Cruelty and hardness of heart:
Translation: “After that, (despite this great miracle) your hearts became hard; like stones, or harder.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 74]
-
Denial of Blessings:
Translation: “(And remember) when you said: O Moses, we will never be able to bear one (kind of) food; so pray to your Lord for us that He may bring forth for us from the plants of the earth.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 6]
-
Killing the prophets:
Translation: “And the seal of humiliation and need was put on their foreheads, and they were again caught in the wrath of Allah; Because they disbelieved in the divine revelations and killed the prophets unjustly, this was because they were sinners and transgressors”. [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 61]
-
Forgetting the services of others:
Translation: “And (remember) when Moses said to his people: “Remember the favor of Allah upon you when He delivered you from the people of Pharaoh, who were inflicting on you the worst punishment, killing your sons and sparing your women; and in that was a great trial for you from your Lord.” [Surah Al-Ibrahim, verse: 6]
-
Harassment and persecution of the leader:
Translation: “And (remember) when Moses said to his people: O my people, why do you persecute me while you know that I am indeed the Messenger of Allah to you?” [Surah Al-Saff, verse: 5]
-
Breaking the covenant:
Translation: “So, because of their breaking their covenant, We turned them away from Our mercy and hardened their hearts.” [Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse: 13]
-
Distorting the words of Allah:
Translation: “They distort the words (of Allah) from their place”. [Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse: 13[
B: Sabotage and destructive activities against Muslims
-
Spreading division among the believers:
Translation: “And there are some hypocrites who built a mosque to cause harm and disbelief and to cause division among the believers.” [Surah Al-Tawbah, verse: 107]
-
Sheltering anti-religious elements:
Translation: “(So that) it may be a warning to those who fought against Allah and His Messenger before.” [Surah Al-Tawbah, verse: 107]
-
Displacing citizens:
Translation: “They say: If we return to Medina, the people of honor will certainly expel the lowly from there”. [Surah Al-Munafiqun, verse: 8]
-
Economic blockade policy:
Translation: “They are the ones who say: Do not spend (anything) on those who are with the Messenger of Allah, lest they disperse (from around him)”. [Surah Al-Munafiqun, verse: 7[
-
Not being satisfied with Muslims except by following the Jews:
Translation: “The Jews and the Christians will never be satisfied with you until you follow their religion. Say, ‘Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the guidance”. [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 120]
-
Lack of knowledge:
Translation: “The example of those who were given the Torah but did not observe it (as they should and perhaps should) is like a donkey carrying books (but does not understand anything of them).” [Surah Al-Jum’a, verse: 5]
-
Arrogance and pride:
Translation: “(The People of the Book) said, “None will ever enter Paradise except a Jew or a Christian.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 111]
-
Hatred and envy:
Translation: “Many of the People of the Book wish, out of envy within themselves, that they would turn you back to disbelief after your faith”. [Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 109]
