In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, who has sent down the Book to His servant and has not made therein any crookedness. And may blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds, and upon his family and all his Sahaba.
The Holy Quran, as the last divine book and the eternal miracle of the last of the Prophets, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him), has long been the subject of extensive research among Muslims and even non-Muslim scholars. One of the outstanding and attractive aspects of the Holy Quran is its miraculous dimension; a miracle that is manifested not only in words and expressions, but also in its meaning, structure, scientific inclusion, harmony with human nature, accurate prophecies, psychological impact, comprehensiveness of the legal and moral system, as well as its educational and civilization-building capacity.
The aim of this writing is to comprehensively and systematically examine the types of miracles of the Holy Quran. In this regard, an effort has been made to analyze various aspects of miracles with an interdisciplinary approach, while utilizing reliable interpretative, hadith, scientific, and historical sources. These aspects include expressive miracles (literary and rhetorical), scientific miracles, legislative miracles, supernatural miracles, psychological miracles and educational effects, structural and stylistic miracles, and civilizational and social miracles.
The necessity of such research arises from the fact that today, in the era of intellectual challenges, epistemological doubts, and rapid scientific advances, the need for a scholarly and well-reasoned explanation of the miraculous aspects of the Quran is felt more than ever before. In this work, an attempt has been made to address both the old dimensions of the miracle and to examine new aspects such as the structural miracle, the numerical miracle, and the hypertext capacities of the Quran.
The basis of this research is a combination of descriptive-analytical and comparative methods. On the one hand, the verses of the Quran and interpretative and theological texts have been carefully examined, and on the other hand, the findings of contemporary sciences, such as linguistics, natural sciences, psychology, and sociology, have been used to compare and explain the miracle of the Quran.
In this writing, the reader will become familiar with the diverse and lesser-known dimensions of the divine miracle in the Quran and will realize that the miracle of the Quran is not limited to just one dimension or one type; rather, with an inclusive view, it can be considered a multidimensional, dynamic, and ever-living miracle; a miracle that calls man to reflection, wonder, and submission to the Almighty Creator from the past to the present and from today to tomorrow.
It is hoped that this work can take a small step toward a deeper understanding of the truth of the Quran and an explanation of its unique position in the world of knowledge and create a new motivation for reflection and contemplation on the divine word.
