The Phenomenon of Atheism and Ways to Combat It (The 24th and Final Part)
De-glamorizing Western Civilization, Materialism, Atheism, and Atheists
One of the most beneficial and effective ways to prevent Atheism is to de-glamorize Western civilization, materialism, and atheists. Experience has shown that most individuals who fall prey to Atheism are those who initially perceive the grandeur and splendor of Western civilization and associate materialism with science, civility, and progress. They attribute a lofty position to atheists in fields like science, perfection, research, and fairness. This perception leads them to become intimidated by atheists. Subsequently, after reading their books and listening to their speeches, they find themselves influenced and turn to atheism.
Unveiling the Doubts of Atheists
The most important way to combat Atheism is to uncover the doubts of Atheists and respond to their objections. It should be noted that understanding a doubt or objection is easier than answering and resolving it. Therefore, for the general public and the majority of students in schools, universities, and colleges—who may not have yet encountered doubts from atheists and possess pure, clear, untainted, and firm beliefs—attempting to articulate these doubts and resolve them, or encouraging them to study atheistic objections, is premature, unnecessary, dangerous, and harmful. This is because their pure beliefs and mental clarity may be tainted and clouded by hearing these doubts, or the answers they receive may seem weak and insufficient, thereby strengthening the doubts.
Engaging in Doubt-Recognition and Unveiling is Only Necessary for Two Groups:
First, individuals who have developed complex ideological knots due to exposure to the doubts of Atheists through media, academic environments, or reading books. For these individuals, satisfactory, sufficient, and accurate answers must be provided to resolve their doubts.
Second, activists in the field of Da’wah (Islamic propagation) and reform who encounter various segments of society and diverse beliefs. This group requires complete preparedness in recognizing and addressing doubts to operate more effectively in this area.
Circle of Discovering Doubts of Atheists
It is worth noting that the discovery of doubts encompasses a wide range of aspects, including:
– Doubts regarding the existence of Allah (SWT)
– Doubts related to monotheism (Tawhid)
– Doubts concerning the attributes of Allah (SWT)
– Doubts pertaining to revelation and the prophethood of the prophets, peace be upon them
– Doubts regarding life after death, the Day of Resurrection, Heaven, and Hell
– Doubts related to Islam
– Doubts concerning the prophethood of the last prophet
– Doubts regarding the glorious Qur’an
– Doubts concerning the finality of prophethood
– Doubts related to divine decree and predestination
– Doubts concerning the Sunnah
– Doubts related to Islamic jurisprudence
– Doubts regarding polygamy in Islam
– Doubts concerning the pure wives of the Prophet
– Doubts regarding jihad in Islam and the battles of the Noble Prophet (PBUH)
– Doubts related to Islamic politics
– Doubts regarding Islamic economics
– Doubts related to the family system
– Doubts concerning the limits, retribution, and penalties of Islamic law
To uncover and address these doubts, it is necessary to conduct independent and separate discussions on each of the aforementioned topics, which requires sufficient time and energy.
If Allah (SWT) grants success, I hope that in the future, along with a group of informed and insightful like-minded individuals, we can take coordinated and cooperative action in this field.
And our final supplication is, “All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.”
