Allama Sayyed Abul Hasan Nadwi ‘May Allah have mercy on him’ (Part 49)
A great man in the field of Da’wah (invitation) and reformation
Glory of Islam and Muslims
One of the biggest and main wishes of Hazrat Allama Nadwi was to raise the flag of Islam over the whole world. It was this thought that made him restless and impatient. By observing the miserable conditions of the Islamic world in the current era, he considered da’wah and reformation to be an important and fundamental duty; he was so immersed in this thought that he sometimes neglected to eat. Allama Nadwi observed that the general Muslim community had fallen into a sleep of neglect. The leaders of the Islamic countries had become slaves and powerless workers of the Western colonialists. The scholars of the Ummah had also chosen very limited and unique thoughts, and their disability and misery were increasing day by day. Therefore, he always held onto this thought and followed the ways of calling and reforming, hoping that maybe the Muslims would awaken and that the flag of Islam would be waved on the summits of the world as it had been before.
Professor Ahmad Sharbasi writes:
Allama Abul Hassan’s greatest wish was to see the rule of Islam on Earth.
Allama Nadwi was always striving for this purpose and warned Islamic scholars and thinkers everywhere about this matter. He wanted the true rule of Islam to prevail over the entire world and did not spare any effort to achieve this goal.
Bilal Abdulhai Hassani Nadwi writes:
The main focus of all Maulana’s efforts was the domination of Islam. He stated clearly: “As long as Islamic law is not in effect and the Islamic system is not officially established, it will not be possible to implement many of the rules of Sharia.”
