The Importance of Security in Islam (The First part)
    Abstract
Security and peace are among the primary and fundamental human needs in society. The issue of security, from the perspective of Islam—especially in the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)—has received considerable attention.
In many verses of the Holy Quran, the importance and status of security are expressed in a general manner. Additionally, the relationship between security and faith, which is foundational to the teachings of the Holy Quran, reveals the significance and value of security, particularly in terms of their meanings and the consequences of each.
Undoubtedly, a peaceful and comfortable life, free from fear, depends on the existence of security within society; security is one of the essential needs without which it is very difficult to live. Given the high status and crucial role of security in human life, Allah Almighty has described the presence of security in people’s lives as one of the signs of civilization and social development in past nations.
This article examines the importance and status of security from the perspective of Islam. The author aims to explore the significance of security through the teachings of the Quran, the Sunnah, and the sayings of the predecessors. Additionally, during the research, the author addresses topics such as the definition of security, its types, ways of achieving it, and introduces these concepts to the reader.
Keywords: security, Islam, human needs, individual security, social security, security factors, obstacles to security.
    Introduction
The religion of Islam, centered on the Holy Quran, contains coherent and coordinated principles that govern both individual and social life. Islam is a religion that considers all dimensions and aspects of human existence, establishing laws tailored to human needs.
One of the most significant and irreplaceable blessings of Allah is the realization of security within society. Security is regarded as the greatest divine blessing due to its immense value and importance in the life of every individual. The benefits and blessings that have been and will be cited regarding security serve as compelling evidence for its importance and value, as well as for tranquility and peace in human life.
Security is the catalyst for development, expansion, progress, and both material and spiritual advancement within society. In the presence of security, hidden talents flourish, arts emerge, and various professions are developed, leading to prosperity and comfort for the community. When security is present, traders and businesspeople can confidently invest in any part of the country or city, creating job opportunities for people. This contributes to the prosperity and growth of a nation and its homeland. Conversely, in the absence of security, potential will be lost, scholars will migrate, and experts will seek refuge in safer and more peaceful nations to preserve their lives. This scenario signals the onset of a country’s and society’s inevitable decline and destruction. Ultimately, the significance of security and the necessity of its establishment are evident in every society. Therefore, it is crucial to acknowledge the importance of security and strive to maintain it.
Alongside food, clothing, and shelter, a sense of security is one of humanity’s essential needs, and Islam has always been attentive to these needs. Security is a need that deserves utmost attention, with proactive measures put in place, including possible laws to prevent factors that may compromise security.
This research serves as a step toward articulating the importance, necessity, and position of security from an Islamic perspective. In this article, we aim to deliver vital and valuable insights regarding security and its significance.
