Democracy; The Cause of Global Crisis
Democracy, conceived by human thought, has been presented to the world, particularly to the Islamic world, as a solution for human affairs and promoted as a system of governance by Western-dominated institutions and media. Fundamentally, democracy is an economic system that stems from the ideology of capitalism, which is based on the separation of religion from life. Behind this system are large multinational corporations that exploit it to sell their products, such as weapons, airplanes, and military vehicles. In a democratic system, humans have the authority to create their own systems according to their desires and whims.
However, when humans choose a system other than a divine one for themselves, they are, in fact, committing acts of polytheism because they do not take life’s instructions from the One who created them, instead prioritizing a human-made system over a divine one. It is clear that democracy is not a solution but is inherently problematic. The issues resulting from the implementation of democracy are evident today, as the Muslim community finds itself in a deeply troubled state.
From suicide to running away from home, prostitution, mass killings, and widespread poverty and hunger—all these issues stem from the implementation of democracy and the failure to implement Islam. It is truly painful that all this misery is rooted in the ideology of capitalism and its proponents (Western organizations); yet the Muslim community’s eyes remain closed, and they continue to turn to the United Nations, the international community, and other international organizations to solve their problems.
A recent example is that for more than 250 days, the Muslim people of Palestine have been subjected to Israel’s brutal bombings; however, all the rulers of Islamic lands and scholars of the Islamic world look to the United Nations and the United States—the supporters and backers of this human-made system—to resolve the Palestinian issue. It is evident that when Muslims face a serious problem today, they immediately turn to global organizations for hope, even though these organizations are the root of the problem. So how can one expect a human-made system to be the solution to the problems of human life?
