The Significance and Worth of Education in human life are Undeniable (2nd part)
The Significance of Study and Reading
Experts in educational science agree that reading significantly enhances children’s knowledge and awareness, enriches their vocabulary, and lays the groundwork for critical thinking and creativity. Studying is instructive and teaches individuals how to live better. It instills values and warns against anti-values.
Those who embody the essence of knowledge are capable of accomplishing all their endeavors.
Through reading, children and teenagers are introduced to diverse lands, different time periods, various sciences, and the arts, all of which stimulate their imagination. Utilizing imagination is essential for fostering creativity. In today’s world, studying serves as a means of indirectly educating individuals about the customs and ways of life, familiarizing them with societal issues. A love for studying opens the doors to learning, culture, and thought for the youth. It is no surprise that a student who reads books remarked: “Since we started reading, our essays have improved, our dictation has improved, and we communicate more effectively.”
Studying means acquiring knowledge, and acquiring knowledge leads to better speaking, thinking, and acting. Who can be found who does not need these qualities?
Education manages and resolves crises while preventing disasters. One of the key indicators of a society’s development is the per capita production and consumption of information and cultural goods. Indeed, studying fosters the intellectual, spiritual, psychological, religious, cultural, and social nourishment of a society. The pivotal role of books in the evolution of human societies can be seen in the fact that all heavenly religions and the great figures of human history have been immortalized through their writings.
Studying liberates people from the captivity of false beliefs, grants freedom of thought and intellect, and imparts the secrets of a dignified life. It shapes one’s way of living and ignites a passion for awakening. A person dedicated to study recognizes their position and dignity as a human being and breaks through the dark barriers of ignorance.
Those who study experience lower levels of depression, reduced feelings of aimlessness and confusion, and greater mental peace. They lead happier, more purposeful lives and attain such intellectual growth that they gain a better understanding of both material and spiritual aspects of life. They have tamed and calmed their inner worlds, making them more logical and rational in confronting the external world.
A person who dedicates their free time to study effectively avoids the temptations of sin, idle chatter, backbiting, gossip, and procrastination. As a result, they enjoy greater mental health and well-being. Remember, if you do not engage your soul in righteous and fulfilling pursuits, it will draw you into false, vain, tormenting thoughts, ignorance, and sin. One reader once expressed, “I free myself from the thoughts of sin while reading, ensuring that I do not waste this minimal benefit.”
“He who sits with the wise becomes wise; be with the wise so that your wisdom increases.”
In the shade of study and contemplation, a person can distance themselves from the negativity and detrimental influences of frivolous gatherings and associations with criminals and idlers, whose bad temper can be contagious.
Doctors state that individuals who study are less prone to forgetfulness, Alzheimer’s, and distractions.
