Economy and its role in Islam (1st part)
Abstract
Today, economics has emerged as an independent science in which everyone is engaged. This research explores the importance of the economy, its role, and potential solutions for curbing inflation, reducing poverty, increasing prosperity, and fostering economic growth, all from the perspective of religious verses and traditions, as well as other rational and narrative justifications.
The findings indicate that a positive attitude toward the world’s wealth and life, along with dedication to work and production, forms the foundation of economic growth and development.
With careful management and planning, issues like inflation, poverty, and unemployment can be effectively addressed. According to the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, wealth and worldly possessions are permissible if obtained through legitimate means and utilized to draw closer to God. Conversely, a life focused solely on spiritual matters, while neglecting worldly responsibilities, is viewed as undesirable.
