Women and their role in society (1st Part)
One of the topics that has received attention from researchers and experts in religious affairs is the social role of women in different areas of life. In Islam, women face certain restrictions and have special rules and issues related to their roles. Conversely, in the contemporary world, the slogan of women’s freedom—defined as women stepping out of the confines of the home—has resonated widely and is often echoed in various societies.
Additionally, there is a prevailing and misleading impression that the progress of civilization in Western societies relies on the employment of women—that is, the “second half” of society—while the perceived backwardness of Muslim societies is attributed to Islam’s specific attitudes toward women and the delays in progress within these Islamic communities.
This type of propaganda has created doubts for many scholars and Islamic theoreticians and different masses of Muslims and has made the explanation and explanation of the theory of Islam towards women and basically its social role in Islam one of the necessary and needed topics. In addition to that, there are doubts such as that Islam is a religion of justice and freedom, equality and equality, and that all sections of society should have equal rights, and that discrimination between men and women, who are the same in humanity, is reprehensible, and the presence of men and women in Different areas of life in an inclusive and common way are inevitable.
They should not hold superiority over each other in the management of life, and the notion of man’s authority and guardianship at home, emphasized in Islam, is seen by some as contrary to justice and fairness. The issue of women’s covering and hijab, considered essential in Islamic teachings, is viewed as another form of injustice imposed on women, one that has led to their exclusion from many social activities and a lack of participation in public life. As a result, women are deprived of the freedoms and roles that require their involvement.
These concerns and similar doubts have necessitated a more thorough examination of this issue.
Therefore, we aim to explore the roots of the aforementioned issues and conduct fair research on the following questions:
    – Do women have a social role in Islam?
    – Have Islamic decrees regarding women led to injustice and cruelty?
    – Does the presence of women in different fields of life express justice and equality between men and women as much as it is happening in the western world?
    – Is the progress of Western civilization and the backwardness of Muslims the result of different attitudes towards women?
    – Is the management from men at home is against justice and fairness?
Achieving the correct answer to the above questions and several other questions in a brief article is difficult, though; But in short, a favorable result can be reached in the light of Islamic scholars’ ideas.
At the beginning of the discussion, first of all, it should be noted that the idea of any role for women throughout history has depended on the attitudes that have existed since the beginning of women and her entry into the field of life. And basically accepting any kind of rights and privileges for women in any society, including religious and non-religious societies, is rooted in the beliefs, beliefs and attitudes of that society towards women, and this is a natural thing; Because the values and standards of superiority in any society are determined by the beliefs of that society; Therefore, it is appropriate to take a short look at the different attitudes towards women in various societies.
