The Biography of the sword of Allah, Hazrat “Khalid bin Walid, MAPH” (Part 46)
Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, Between Romans and Iranians
Allamah Abu Zaid writes in the book “Khalid Ibn Walid”: “Hazrat Syedna Khalid Ibn Walid, MAPH, expanded his control over the literacy of Iraq, showed his unparalleled courage and bravery to the Arabs of the island, and brought them to their knees.”
After countless campaigns, he decided to go to Farazland (the border of the Levant, Iraq, and the island) in order to strengthen the backs of the fronts and the conquered lands by dominating them and not leaving any weak spots.
This was his decision to reassure and prelude an attack on Iran’s borders to further expand the rival of the Islamic land.
Gathering of Mujahideen on the land of Islam in the city of Faraz
Imam Kala’i, may Allah have mercy on him, writes: “In the holy month of Ramadan, when the Muslims finished breaking the fast and gathered in the city of Faraz, the arrogant and proud government of Rome became aware of this action of the Muslims and became angry and agitated.”
On the other hand, the Iranians, who had suffered many defeats against Syedna Khalid bin Walid and the Mujahideen of Islam and hated them, joined hands with the Romans to wipe out the Muslims from the scene of existence.
Also, many fugitive Arabs and those who lost their relatives in the war with Hazrat Syedna Khalid bin Walid, MAPH, rushed to the help of Iranians and Romans in order to take revenge on him.
For this reason, a huge army of Romans, Iranians and Arabs was formed, who did not consider anyone as their opponent in the war.
The encounter between the army of Islam and the army of infidels in the Euphrates River
These two armies moved towards each other and faced each other on both sides of the Euphrates River.
Translation: The Romans said to Khalid: “O Khalid! Come to our side and, after settling down, enter the war with us.” Hazrat Syedna Khalid Ibn Waleed, MAPH, with his heroism, intelligence, and foresight, saw the expedience in this regard in not endangering the Muslims; so he said to the Romans: “We will not come; you come to us to start the war.”
After that, the Romans told the Muslims that if they moved away from the Euphrates River, they would come and settle there. Hazrat Syedna Khalid Ibn Walid, MAPH, answered them: “No, we will stay where we are; But you cross the Euphrates below us.” The Romans also inevitably crossed the Euphrates River and ordered everyone to fight separately. Therefore, the Roman army went to one side, the Iranian army to another side, and the Arab army allied with the infidels went to the other side.
After the start of the war, the conflict continued fiercely and Muslims were attacked from all sides; Finally, the brave army of Islam was able to defeat the enemy and kill more than a hundred thousand enemy soldiers and commanders.
Hazrat Qaqaa Ibn Amr, may Allah have mercy on him, describes the event of Faraz in the form of poetry as follows:
لقينا بالفراض جموع روم …….. وفرس غمها طول السلام
بــــدنا جمــعــهم لما التقينا ……. وبيتنــا بــجمــع بني رزام
فما فتئت جنــود السلم حتى ……. رأيـنا القوم كالغنم السوام
Translation: (In the city of Faraz, we faced the Roman army and their long horses, And Islam had made them sad, we faced each other. When we faced them, they all became weak, and our camp was among the Bani Razam. The armies of Islam are always stable; even we have seen the people of Iraq, Iran and Rome who have become like sheep due to humiliation.)
After that, Hazrat Syedna Khalid bin Walid, MAPH, remained in Faraz for ten days, and after that he ordered everyone to return to the city of Hira.
