The Biography of the Sword of Allah “Khalid bin Walid, MAPH” (Part 44)
Hazrat Khalid (May Allah be pleased with him) was in the city of Duma Al-Jandal and Khanafs. As discussed in the previous section, Hazrat Siddique Akbar (RA) sent Hazrat Ayaz Ibn Ghanem (RA) to conquer northern Iraq, and Hazrat Khalid (RA) assisted him with the intention of helping and cooperating. Along the way, he clashed with the people of Anbar and Ain al-Tamr and defeated them all.
During the conquest of Ain al-Tamr, Hazrat Khalid (May Allah be pleased with him) sent a man named Walid Ibn Uqbah (May Allah be pleased with him) to Duma Al-Jandal to assist Ayyad Ibn Ghanem. After the conquest of Ain al-Tamr, he followed the same route.
When Walid reached this city, he saw that Hazrat Ayaz ibn Ghannam, MAPH, had besieged the whole city, of course, the people of that city had surrounded Ayaz himself. Seeing this scene, Walid suggested Ayaz to send a letter to Hazrat Khalid “May Allah bless him” and ask him for help. When the letter reached the hands of Hazrat Khalid, he realized the severity of Hazrat Ayaz’s need, and in response to Hazrat Ayaz, he wrote:
“Be patient and persevere; the brave army will reach you with lions in it and they have bloody swords on their waists, groups after groups will come to your aid.”
After that, Hazrat Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) appointed a person Named: “Owaym Ibn Kahl Aslami” as the head of the city of Ain al-Tamr and he himself went to Duma Al-Jandal.
Hazrat Khaled, MAPH, in the city of Duma al-Jandal
Allamah Abu Zaid Shalabi, may Allah have mercy on him, writes: When the people of Duma Al-Jandal informed about the arrival of Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, they immediately asked for help from their neighboring tribes. They reached the land of Duma Al-Jandal and started the war with Hazrat Ayaz. At the head of these two armies were two very important commanders named (Akidar Ibn Abdul Malik) and (Judi Ibn Rabia).
When Hazrat Khalid, MAPH, arrived in this city, these two commanders became incompatible with each other; Ekider, because he knew Hazrat Khalid (MAPH), insisted on making peace with him, but Jodi did not accept this proposal, and Ekider was also unhappy with this behavior of Jodi and ran away from the scene of war.
Hazrat Khalid, may Allah be pleased with him, became aware of this, arrested Akider and ordered him to be punished for treason and breach of covenant that he had committed during the time of the Holy Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
After Hazrat Khalid’s arrival in the city, he placed his army between the army of infidels and the army of Ayaz and made strong attacks on the infidels. The attack resulted in the arrest of Judi and many other people were either killed or arrested. After Jodi’s arrest, Hazrat Khalid (RA) ordered to be killed and then decided to stay in the same city.
