Hazrat Firouz Dilmi, MAPH (part 7)
Firouz Dilmi (MAPH) and Aswad Ansi
One of the most important events in the life of Hazrat Syedna Firouz Dilmi (MAPH) was killing one of the greatest enemies of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) (Aswad Ansi). With the false claim of prophethood, this person had spread sedition and corruption among the Arabs and all the Muslims of that time, and his purpose was to destroy the beautiful light of prophecy that was being published and spread. But by taking advantage of Hazrat Syedna Firouz Dilmi, MAPH, Allah (S.W.T) neutralized and destroyed this sedition.
Therefore, in this section, it will be appropriate to introduce Aswad Ansi, (may Allah curse him), and then those who cooperated with him in this act should also be mentioned so that we can learn more about the issue of murder and his plan.
Aswad Ansi the falsely claimer of prophethood
Imam Ibn Kasir of Dimashqi, R.H, writes: “Aswad Ansi’s name is Abhlah ibn Ka’b ibn Ghous, known as Aswad Ansi, and he was from a city called “Kahf Hanan”.
He lived during the time of the Holy Prophet, PBUH, and spent his childhood years in the same small town. He learned war tactics there for some time and gradually formed an army under his name, which at that time reached seven hundred warriors.
He and his companions sent a letter to the agents and soldiers of the Prophet, PBUH, who were present in the land of Yemen. The text of the letter is as follows: «أيها المتمردون علينا! أمسكوا علينا ما أخذتم من أرضنا، فنحن أولى به وأنتم على ما أنتم عليه.» Translation: “O you who rebelled against us! Stop doing this and return Yemen to us. We need to get back what you have taken from us. We are the best and most deserving for this land, and you deserve your lands.”
He went to Najran and conquered it after ten days and nights. Then he moved towards the capital of Yemen, the city of Sana’a, and after twenty-five days and nights, he took this city under his control. Finally, he conquered the entire land of Yemen and many of the Noble Companions who were stationed there migrated to other lands.
Aswad Ansi became the owner of power and shock by occupying Yemen; Many new Muslims again apostatized and joined him. They kept his orders alive as if his every order was like a bird in the sky watching over everyone.
At that time, Hazrat Firouz had not converted to Islam and was living in Yemen. Therefore, Aswad Ansi put him in charge and guardian of Persian speakers who were in Yemen and married his aunt’s daughter (Zaz bint Shahr Ibn Bazam). He had also taken two other girls from the Persians of that time as his concubines; As Imam Ibn Asaker, R.H, writes: «كان عنده امرأة من بني‌غطيف سباها وهي عمرة ابنة عبديغوث المكشوح، وامرأة من الأبناء ممن استبى يقال لها بهرانة ابنة الديلم، أخت فيروز بن الديلم وكان فيروز يدخل عليه إذا شاء لمكان أخته.» Translation: “Near him was a woman from the Bani Ghatif tribe who had taken him captive; That woman was the daughter of a person named “Abdighous Makshuh”. Also, his other wife was one of the immigrants from Fars, Yemen, who was also captured; Her name was Bahrameh bint Dilam, sister of Firouz Ibn Dilam. Because she was Firouz’s sister, he would go to him whenever he wanted.”
