Hazrat Firouz Dilmi “MAPH” (Part 5)
The questions of Firouz Dilmi, (MAPH) from the Holy Prophet, PBUH
After mentioning Syedna Firouz’s conversion to Islam, we will talk about how zealous he was towards Islam and could not even for a moment violate Islam and the instructions of the Holy Prophet. He always asked questions to the Prophet of Islam, peace and blessings be upon him, and this is how he quenched his scientific thirst.
This enthusiasm for science and faith was thanks to be talking and hanging out with the Holy Prophet. This situation was achieved when he converted to Islam.
Below, we mention the questions that Syedna Firouz Dilmi, may Allah be pleased with him, raised in the presence of the Prophet, PBUH, Allah willing, which will not be useless.
Imam Ibn Asir Shaybani, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from Abu Wahhab Jaishani that he heard Abdullah son of Firuz narrating from his honorable father who said: «أتيت النبي فقلت يا رسول‌الله! إني أسلمت وتحتي أختان فقال النبي: اختر أيتهما شئت»; Translation: I came to the Holy Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: “O Messenger of Allah! I converted to Islam while two sisters are in my marriage at the same time [while Islam prohibits the marriage of two sisters at the same time for one man; What will happen to these two women, should I divorce both of them or should I keep both of them?] The Holy Prophet of Islam, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Keep any one of the two sisters you want and divorce the other.”
From this question and answer, it appears that he knew that it is not right for two sisters to marry the same husband at the same time, therefore, after the question and answer and being fully aware of this issue, he kept one of them and let the other go.
Imam Mursad Ibn Abdullah Yazni, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from Syedna Firouz Dilmi, may Allah be pleased with him, that he saidنا بأرض باردة وإنا نستعين بشراب من القمح. Translation: (I said: O Messenger of Allah! We live in a cold and dry land, and we take help from wheat wine [to obtain warmth and endure the cold). [So, is it permissible for us to drink wheat wine despite this excuse?] He said: “Is it intoxicating?” I said yes, He said: “Do not drink it.” I said people will not leave drinking, He said: “If they do not stop drinking it, fight them.” and kill them.”)
Imam Yahya bin Abu Amr Shibani, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from his son Abdullah al-Dilmi that his father said: «قدمت على رسول الله ‌صلى‌الله‌عليه‌وسلم، فقلت: يا رسول الله! Translation: I came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: “O Messenger of Allah! We are the owners of vineyards, [our people are used to drinking grape wine] while the sanctity of wine has also been revealed, so what shall we do with it [plenty of grapes]?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Make them raisins.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah! After we make them into raisins, what do we do with them?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Drink them with water in the morning and drink the water in the evening [which is called Nabiz al-Anab], then put [the remaining raisins] in water in the evening and drink the water in the morning.”
Then I said: “O Messenger of Allah! [When we put the raisins in the water] should we not leave it until late so that the water thickens well and then drink it?” The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “In this case, you should not put those raisins in the “Danan” dish, but put them in the “Shanan” dish. Because if the time to squeeze the raisins in the water is delayed and the raisins are still in the water, vinegar will be made.”
After that I said: “O Messenger of Allah! You know what tribe I am from and what kind of people I live with, so who will help us?”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah and His Messenger will help you.” I said: “This is enough for us, O Messenger of Allah.”
Imam Bayhaqi, may Allah have mercy on him, also narrates in his book from Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: «لما قتل الأسود العنسي، كذاب صنعاء، فيروز الديلمي، وقدم قادمهم على رسول الله صلی‌الله‌علیه‌وسلم قد أسلموا، قالوا: يا رسول الله! من نحن؟ قال: أنتم إلينا أهل البيت ومنا» (When Aswad Ansi, the liar of Sana’a [the first claimant of prophethood] was killed by Firouz Dilmi, his people came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and converted to Islam. They said: O Messenger of Allah! Who are we? [What position and status do we have with you] They said: “You have the as our Ahl al-Bayt, and you belong to us.”
This was an example of the questions that Hazrat Firouz (may Allah be pleased with him) asked in the presence of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Of course, other questions have been asked that this article does not have the capacity to cover.
