Allamah Syed Abul Hasan Nadwi “R.H” (part 4)
Keywords: Allamah Nadwi, Abulhasan Nadwi, Nadwi.
Abstract:
In the first part, brief accounts were written about his personal and social character. In terms of his family and lineage, it can be said that he belonged to a noble family and was a direct descendant of Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), the grandson of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). From his childhood and early adolescence, he displayed unique characteristics that hinted at a bright future and exceptional character. These qualities included a disinterest in children’s games, a remarkable enthusiasm and aptitude for knowledge and learning, and a preference for the company of scholars and righteous individuals. Another factor that contributed to his growth and development was the special blessing of having an ascetic and caring mother, who, through her compassionate guidance and earnest prayers, consistently inspired her son to reach greater heights of happiness, growth, and development. Eventually, on the blessed day of Friday during the holy month of Ramadan, his life came to a peaceful end. May Allah be pleased with him.
A selection of the characteristics of this family
Moulana’s family has countless outstanding qualities, one of which is the spiritual brightness of this family. This family has had a close relationship with the righteous and reformers in every era; As “Shah Alamullah” was one of the disciples and devotees of Syed Adam Banuri, who is the authorized caliph and one of the disciples of Sheikh Ahmad Sarhandi Mujaddid alf-Sani, and some of them are related to Shah Waliullah Dehlawi and Shah Abdul Aziz. Fortunately, this rightous and Mubarak family has special privileges; But Hazrat Imam Nadwi has pointed out some of these attributes, which Syed Salman Hosseini Nadwi briefly writes as follows:
1. This family has kept its lineage to the extent of exaggeration and excess, as a result of which many of its hereditary characteristics have been preserved; Of course, some people have weaknesses in terms of mental and physical abilities.
2. This family has always followed the belief of pure monotheism, upright and protected from polytheistic influences. They also avoided heresies and were based on the religion of Sunnis and Jama’ah, and one of the slogans and characteristics of this family was the call to monotheism and followers of the Sunnah.
3. One of the distinguished features of this family, which existed in all eras, was masculinity, zeal and religious feelings as it is famous in the history of this family.
4. This family has always lacked in terms of dexterity, political mentality and cleverness, and naivety is found in it, and in general situations, instead of being cruel, they have been oppressed.
5. It is evident from history that they were comprehensive in Sharia and Tariqat in every era; as if on one side there are religious scholars, on the other side spiritual elders.
6. This family has never benefited from countless wealth; most of them spent their lives with struggle and poverty and had wealth and possessions as much as they needed.
Fields of intellectual development
Imam Nadwi was born in a family that benefited from the bright light of knowledge and science. The pure lineage that presented Da’wah, sincere, truth-seeking mystics and elite thinkers to the world in various fields of science and knowledge, authoring and songwriting, and jihad and struggle in the path of the supreme word of Allah; A family that consisted of goodness and piety, asceticism and sacrifice, spirituality and was fighting against the demon of ego and tyranny.
If in the past, this family was alive with mystics such as Shah Alamullah, in the recent era, it has nurtured and kind mujahids and sincere people like Syed Ahmed bin Irfan in its bosom. Their descendants will also leave positive effects, and one of the most obvious examples is Allamah Kabir Syed Abulhasan Ali Nadwi. Since he had a strong sense and unique knowledge, he carefully studied the history of his predecessors and did not let the lantern of guidance and light of knowledge that they held in their hands, which they used to shine a light among the lost people, go silent.
On the contrary, they made a lot of effort in the way of correcting and enlightening it, and it was the result of their intense love and affection for their predecessors that at the beginning of their writing period, they wrote the magnificent biography of Hazrat Syed Ahmad bin Irfan Shahid, which indicates the writer of the book was also of deep feeling and high spirit.
