Factors that Upgraded Allama Nadwi’s Personality
There are many factors that contribute to the personality of this great man of the 20th century, which should be studied and researched further. However, the most prominent factor that is evident in his life is that he sought out the most accomplished individuals in every field of knowledge and humbly kneeled before them as a student. He reveled in humility and brokenness in their presence and maintained communication with them until the very end. Consequently, many people of wisdom and insight acknowledged that Hazrat Syed Abul Hasan embodied the perfections and The virtues of numerous religious leaders, with the blessings of the followers of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, are exemplified in him, embodying the saying, “What the good ones all have, you have in one place.”
Due to these perfections and unique characteristics, he was constantly growing and improving until the last moments of their lives, and the rays of their grace and blessings covered everywhere.
And it was for this reason that all sections of the Islamic Ummah considered him one of their own and all moderate and non-fanatic groups used him equally.
Everyone was proud of him, and everyone shed tears in his absence and mourned and considered his loss as an irreparable loss.
Imam Nadwi, may Allah have mercy on him, did not hesitate in benevolence and sympathy for any group, he advised the rulers, he guided the elites of the Islamic Ummah, he gave grace to the cultured and the educated, and he showed the way to groups and parties, not only Muslims. Rather, non-Muslims were not deprived of his care; When he gave a speech in one of the big conferences where Muslims and non-Muslims were present, an educated man from non-Muslims, while being strongly influenced by his words, shouted helplessly: “Maulana, you are not the only property of Muslims.”
One of the habits of Nadwi’s, may Allah have mercy on him, was that whenever he traveled to Islamic lands, he would pray privately for the dead of that land and ask for their forgiveness, so that the dead and the past were not deprived of his attention. He finished the blessed Surah “Yasin” several times a day and gave his reward to the great ones of the past. Therefore, just as their existence and efforts were a source of goodness and mercy for the past and present, Allah willing, it is hoped that the future generations will also benefit from the grace of this family of Prophethood.
Certainly, knowing the personality, thoughts and pure thoughts of Allama Nadwi, may Allah have mercy on him, requires the efforts of writers and thinkers who feel the need to investigate and introduce his thoughts; because the role of the writings and thoughts of Syed “Nadwi” in giving positive direction and giving identity to the Islamic awakening movement in the present era and establishing religious ideals and rituals is very important and it is necessary that effective efforts and measures are always taken in this field.
Therefore, dealing with all the existential dimensions of Syed Nadwi’s character, may Allah have mercy on him, is a very difficult task and far from the ability of the writer of this material.
However, I will present some parts of the biography of this great man of history to the readers through the book “Results of the Life, Thoughts and Services of Maulana Syed Abul Hasan Nadwi, may Allah have mercy on him” by the precious Maulana Abdul Latif Naraavi, which has abundant information in this section. وما توفیقی الا بالله عليه توكلت وهو رب العرش العظيم My success is only in Allah, in Him I trust, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.
Yes! In terms of family and lineage, it can be said that he is from the noble family and from the pure lineage of Syedna Hassan ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, the Merciful Face and the grandson of the Prophet, peace be upon him, who had a series of unique characteristics from his childhood and early adolescence, which indicated a bright future and personality. Traits such as: reluctance to play children’s games, abundant enthusiasm and taste for science and studies, hanging out with scholars and righteous people. And another reason for their growth and development was their ascetic, kind and caring mother who always caused her child to reach the heights of prosperity and happiness and growth and development with her compassionate advice and helpless prayers. Finally, on the blessed day of Friday and the holy month of Ramadan, the bird of his life reached his resting place. May Allah be pleased with him.
