    Personable Muslim (16th part)

    Consequences of selfishness and pride
Selfishness and pride have negative consequences in human spirit and mind, thoughts and personality, which we write below:
    1. Contamination with polytheism and disbelief:
Wasn’t the main reason for Satan not to prostrate to humans’ arrogance? Satan’s pride and selfishness caused him not to prostrate to man, and finally he was cursed by God and fell into disbelief and polytheism; Also, many people do not accept the truth due to selfishness and pride and pretend their path is correct. Because arrogance doesn’t allow a person to submit to the truth. One of the clear examples is Abu Jahl who didn’t accept Islam due to his pride and selfishness in his heart and started fighting against the beloved Prophet of Islam.
    1. Deprivation of science and knowledge:
A proud and selfish person is also deprived of knowledge; Because a person realizes the truth of knowledge when it is learned anywhere and from anyone; An arrogant person doesn’t learn easily from anyone, especially from his peers. This causes him to lag behind the caravan of knowledge, and the fact that knowledge is light, and light can’t replace the heart of an arrogant person; Because of this, a selfish and arrogant person doesn’t reach the truth of science and falls behind the caravan of science.
    1. The source of many sins:
Sometimes we pay attention to the situations of envious, greedy, foul-mouthed and infected with all kinds of sins, and we see that the source of all these vices in their existence is arrogance.
    1. causing people’s character to be lowered and hated:
Naturally, people don’t like a selfish and proud person; Because the healthy human nature hates moral and behavioural vices, and no one allows himself to submit to the superiority of arrogant people; In this sense, a selfish person doesn’t have a good position and dignity among people. For this reason, the closest friends and relatives’ distance themselves from them and if they have to live with them due to social requirements, but they hate them in their hearts.
