Attack on a residential house in Kabul
The occupying forces of the United States of America on August 29, 2021. They carried out an air raid on a residential house in Shirpur district of Kabul. At first, the occupying forces called this attack against terrorist positions and ISIS forces and supported this crime, but then it became clear that this attack was carried out on a residential house and innocent civilians were killed.
In this attack, ten members of the “Zamri Ahmadi” family were martyred, seven of them were children. “Pentagon” believed that this attack was carried out to eliminate ISIS elements who intended to attack the process of evacuating the occupying soldiers, but after more detailed investigations, it was found that there were no military forces and elements in that house and only the family members of Mr. Ahmadi and His children were there.
General Kenneth McKenzie, the commander of the Central Command of the US Army, said that all the victims of that attack were civilians. He said: Our investigations show that this attack was a tragic mistake.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement that civilians were targeted in this air campaign.
Despite calling this attack “wrong” and “tragic”, the US Department of Defense denied any war crimes and said there is no evidence for this.
Accusing America of violating human rights
In November 2014. Amnesty International, which focuses on and investigates cases of human rights violations and war crimes by aggressor countries, accused the United States of hiding evidence of war crimes, torture and extrajudicial killings in Afghanistan.
The US threatening to arrest and sanction the war crimes investigation board
In September 2018. The United States threatened to arrest and sanction the judges of the International Criminal Court and other officials if they indict any of the American soldiers who are occupying Afghanistan. The United States also announced that it will not cooperate with the International Criminal Court if it conducts an investigation into allegations of war by the United States in Afghanistan.
On April 12, 2019, a panel of judges at the International Criminal Court decided not to open an investigation into Afghanistan, after Fatou Bensouda, the court’s chief prosecutor, presented a report that established “a reasonable basis” those crimes had been committed. but they decided not to continue, Because the United States and other parties are not cooperating.
In March 2020. The top judges of the International Criminal Court called for an investigation into war crimes by US forces in Afghanistan and canceled previous investigations into the role of the United States in committing war crimes.
There is no doubt that the war crimes and human rights committed by the aggressor forces of the United States of America during the occupation of Afghanistan are many and cannot be collected comprehensively and case by case; But in this topic, we presented some of them as a handful of samples. These were the cases that were officially compiled by relevant and international legal institutions, and the world and legal communities have approved them.
War crimes of British forces in Afghanistan
War crimes in Afghanistan are not only limited to the United States, and many of the aggressor countries that are members of NATO have also committed war crimes, and official international investigations have revealed these facts. In the independent and reliable research conducted by the “BBC” global media website and research department, it has mentioned clear and obvious cases of human rights violations and war crimes and has exposed hidden facts.
On February 7, 2011. American special forces killed unarmed and innocent youths in a pre-arranged attack on “Nad Ali” district of Helmand province while they were gathered in a house. Samiullah and Nisar Ahmad were Habibullah’s children who were sleeping in their house and seven other people who came to offer condolences were in the same house. Suddenly, four military planes carrying British special forces personnel landed and shortly after, all nine people who were in the guest house lost their lives.
The British special forces had claimed that these people had a relationship with the Mujahideen of the Taliban and opened fire on them when they entered the house, a claim that was never proven based on the BBC’s investigation and the examination of the evidence on the attacked house.
The investigation by the BBC investigation team of the signs and appearances of the shooting at Habibullah’s house, as well as the confirmation of the weapons experts of the British special forces, proved that several bullets were fired from above, which showed that people were lying down or leaning against the wall and not It has been shot during battles and wars.
Also, the BBC research team discovered that several years after the shooting, British Royal Police investigators had seen photos of the scene taken immediately after the incident and reached the same conclusion. But the Royal Military Police had felt that they would not have much chance of pursuing anyone because of the obstacles they had encountered from others.
Habibullah, the father of two of the martyrs and the owner of the attacked house, testified that the heads or chests of all nine people were clearly shot, which is one of the common characteristics of deliberate shooting by the British Special Air Service at close range. What refuted the claims of the British forces was that only three weapons were found in this house, while they believe that all nine people were Mujahid and “rebels”. This issue, as well as Habibullah’s insistence that these people were not armed, has increased the possibility that the British forces used the trick of planting weapons to make it appear that these innocent people had weapons when they testified. This possibility was strengthened by the BBC research team’s investigation of similar cases.
