Good news given to heaven
One day, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, led the morning prayer for the Muslims, and then he looked at them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to be sure about the level of faith of his companions. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked them who among you is fasting today?
Everyone became silent; Hazrat Umar, may God be pleased with him, said: “O Messenger of Allah! “I made an intention at night, but I have not fasted.”
Siddique, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “But I have fasted the night of the intention and I have been fasting since morning.” Then the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, asked them: Which of you has gone to visit a sick person today?
Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “O Messenger of Allah! We came out of our houses for the funeral prayer, how could we go to visit a sick person?”
Abu Bakr Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “O Messenger of Allah! I left the house to go to the mosque and yesterday I found out that my brother Abdul Rahman bin Auf is sick, I came to the mosque from his house, and I knew that he was awake for the morning prayer. So, I went to visit him; Then I showed up for noon prayer.”
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: Which of you has given charity?
Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “We have prayed, we have not left our place yet; Where have we seen a poor person to give him charity?”
Hazrat Abu Bakr said: “O Messenger of Allah! I have done this; “After I returned from visiting my brother, I saw a poor man in the mosque. My grandson had a piece of bread in his hand, I took it and gave it to that poor man.”
The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: May you go to heaven, O Abu Bakr, these are not gathered in one man, unless it has been given good news to heaven. Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, sighed and said: “I will never be able to surpass you in anything, O Abu Bakr.”
