Crimes and Felonies of colonial countries (2nd Part)
The colonial countries have committed such horrible crimes and felonies during their colonial period that the history papers are ashamed to mention and express them. Serial murders, sexual assaults, bombings of gatherings and public places, executions, deportations, exiles, burials alive, etc. have been parts of their oppression.
In this section, we decided to mention some of these cases.
French crimes in Algeria
France, which today considers itself the cradle of civilization, freedom of expression and modern thinking and always accuses Muslims of terrorism and supporting them, is itself the biggest colonial criminal and violator of human rights. Examining the not-so-distant history of this country shows that during the colonial era, the officers and soldiers of this country have committed horrible and shocking crimes against countries like Algeria, Tunisia, etc.; In such a way that according to historians and French writers themselves, during the 132 years of this country’s colonialism over Algeria, more than ten million people were killed; And millions of people were injured, exiled and displaced.
The crimes of the May 8, 1945, revolution
One of the great crimes committed by the French during the colonial era on Algeria, the horrific scenes during the popular revolution and peaceful protests on May 8, 1945. Was. On this day, 45,000 Algerian people, who wanted their independence and freedom from colonialism, were killed by the French army in the areas of “Satif”, “Qalma” and “Kharateh” by air and land.
This terrible genocide is a shameful stain on the forehead of the colonialist countries, especially France, and is a clear sign of the terrorist nature of this country’s history.
Dr. Saadi Bezian, an Algerian writer and thinker, writes in the book “Crimes of France in Algeria”: “Are the people of Algeria, the events of May 8, 1945. Do they forget that in which very dangerous crimes were committed by the French forces against the residents of Satif, Kharatah and Kalmeh?”
In another place, he writes: “The list of French crimes is countless; Here we examine the crimes of this country on May 8, 1945, on this day, French colonialism made 45 thousand people martyrs and sparked the 1954 revolution. It came from that.”
Also, they in 1955. 1200 people in 1961. 300 people whose bodies were thrown into the sea; And in 1832. They martyred 1,200 people in the “Al-Aufiya” area and 4,000 people in the “Al-Four” mosque. “Al-Aghawat” massacre, which was carried out by bombing and using mustard gas, in which more than 2,300 women, children and the general public were martyred. This is another part of French crimes in Algeria.
The French colonized Algeria for 132 years and killed or exiled more than ten million people, used all kinds of bombs and committed genocide and mass murder. France tested nuclear bombs 17 times on the people of Algeria, whose victims are estimated to be 100,000.
Apart from Algeria, France had colonized Tunisia for 75 years, Morocco for 44 years, and Mauritania for 60 years, and committed all kinds of crimes and atrocities in these countries and killed, injured, or exiled thousands of people.
In the country of Tunisia, they killed more than two thousand people in several famous battles called “Battle of Al Jala”, the bombing of “Sidi Youssef Village”, the battle of “Jabal Aqri”, “Ghar Al Jani”, etc.; Many were wounded and amputated, and countless bodies were executed or prevented from being buried.
Tunisian writers and thinkers write that in these battles, all kinds of bombings, looting of reserves and natural mines, occupation of agricultural lands, heavy taxes and countless indecent encounters with the Tunisian nation took place.
British crimes in India
England had India as its colony for more than a century and a half. This colonization since 1800. It lasted until 1947. During this period, millions of people were killed militarily; Many people died and perished due to hunger and poverty arising from colonialism; And the religion and culture of this country was invaded and violated by the British soldiers.
According to the summaries that have been made, Britain has carried out more than 8080 cases of aggressive attacks and assaults leading to murder in India, of which more than one million people have been victims of it among Muslims alone. Islamic identity was attacked in this country and many Islamic and non-Islamic scholars and intellectuals were killed. Muslims were denied from holding large government positions and Muslim children were employed at a young age and brainwashed.
“Amritsar” massacre
On the 13th day of April 1919. While more than five thousand people of India, both Muslims and non-Muslims, gathered without any weapons in the garden of “Jalipanwala” in the city of “Amritsar” in the state of Punjab in a quiet and peaceful gathering for independence, by the order of General “Reginald Daye”. were attacked. By the order of this general, who is known as the “Butcher of Amritsar”, this demonstration was destroyed and more than 1,200 people were killed and 4,000 were injured. This shameful incident was the beginning of liberation campaigns and finally, the independence of India.
The uprising of 1857 AD and its failure
When the people of India, both Muslims and non-Muslims, realized that the British had no other duty other than to take the country’s wealth and oppress its people, they started an uprising that led to the 1857 uprising. it became famous. Many Muslim scholars also played a role in this uprising. In fact, the great contribution in this historical event and the encouragement of the people of India to regain their independence and freedom belongs to the Muslims and especially to the scholars and elders. Scholars such as “Maulana Ahmadullah”, “Maulana Liaqat Ali”, “Maulana Mohammad Qasim Nanotoi”, “Maulana Rashid Ahmad Ganguhi” (may Allah have mercy on him) and… played an important and essential role in this uprising.
Unfortunately, this uprising failed, and the British committed the most dangerous crimes. “Allameh Sayyed Abulhasan Nadvi”, a writer and thinker of the Islamic world and a native of India, writes: “After the defeat of this uprising, the British took the hardest revenge, in such a way that the murder and looting market was established in Delhi; Blood was spilled; necks were struck; The arrows were released without identifying the target and the houses were looted.
Everyone who had the ability to save himself, his family, and his honor had left the city, so that the city, which was the bride of cities and the capital of India, had turned into a terrible desert, with nothing but empty houses and dense ruins, smelly corpses, and predatory armies. There was no one left.
Then the stage of execution and suffocation of Muslims came, and gallows were installed on public roads and places of people’s recreation and in seven days, twenty-seven thousand Muslims were executed and thus one of the most bitter events in the history of colonialism took place.
Types of colonialism and its examples
Throughout history, colonialism has had various types and examples, and the colonizing countries have used various methods to colonize other countries; The most important types of colonialism are as follows:
Colonization combined with land occupation (settlement):
This is an example of colonialism in the way that the colonizing country encourages its people to move to the colonized land and take advantage of that country’s wealth and occupy its land. This colonialism is dangerous in such a way that the uninvited guest attempts to reproduce, acquire and take advantage of the interests and capital of that land, and perhaps sometimes kills the original inhabitants of that land or expels them from the city; Like what happened in Palestine and happens every day. Day by day, the usurping government of Israel continues to usurp more, expand settlements and kill the original inhabitants of this land, and seizes the interests and capital of the Palestinian land.
2- Military colonialism:
This type of colonialism means that a strong state and nation with military forces suddenly attacks a weak state and nation that does not have strong weapons and a strong nation and defense power, and is busy stealing their wealth, natural resources, and material reserves. be; Like what France did in the occupation of Algeria and Tunisia. (Its discussion was given in the crimes and crimes of the colonialists.)
3- Supportive colonialism:
This type of colonialism is in this way: the colonizing country forces the colonized country to sign a treaty with the content that the colonial country supports the colonizing country. With this method, the colonizing country shows itself as a benefactor and supporter of the colonized nation, and whenever it wants, it can intervene in their land without the request of the colonized country, and with this method, gradually over the entire land and in all matters, including economic affairs, military and political interference.
This method was implemented by England when it controlled the Arabian Gulf. This method was also used by France during the colonial period of Tunisia. Based on the treaty between these two countries in 1881. It was closed and then in 1883. It was renewed, all foreign powers and foreign diplomacy were taken away from the country of Tunisia.
4- Trusteeship colonization:
This type of colonialism is known as “proxy” and “guardianship” colonialism, and it is called “mandate” in Arabic. This colonialism is as follows: the colonizing country protects a part of the wealth of the colonized country and gradually takes its wealth and interests as a hostage and over time becomes the owner of that land.
In the history of colonialism, the era of trusteeship is famous as the era when the colonizing countries considered themselves to be the lawyer, representative and all-rounder of the colonized countries.
5- testamentary colonization:
This type of colonialism is also very similar to “proxy colonialism”, with the difference that in this type of colonialism, the United Nations dominates the colonized country and takes over its property, assets, and powers, and in any way, it wants and recognizes can use it.
This type of colonialism actually deprives that country of its freedom, independence and capabilities and limits its powers and does not have any kind of positive result or effective process for that country.
The cases mentioned were the most famous examples of colonialism and each of them has been used by European colonialist countries on weak countries in the Middle East or Africa.
