Abstract

The crisis of not studying and staying away from books and reading books, is the starting point of illiteracy and the ominous seed of ignorance. Each society that turns away from study, knowledge will be removed from that society and the black cloud of neglect, ignorance and illiteracy will spread over it. Any nation that does not reconcile with the book will be left behind in today’s world, and it will not remember its religion as it should, and the causes of degeneration and backwardness will be provided for it. And the only way to get rid of all these monsters of widespread misery that has plagued us, Complete planning with the advice of experts and experienced Teachers and targeted study will be far from confusion and scattering. In this article, I intend to share with the readers about the lack of reading along with the motivations of young people’s lack of relationship on it and the factors of growth and promotion of the culture of reading and reading among the young generation.

The only factor of victory and the secret of growth, progress and progress of any society is dependent on the level of awareness, science and knowledge of that nation, and the higher the reading and reading statistics of the society, the higher the level of excellence and progress in that society. It is growing and developing.
On the other hand, a society that is at a low level of progress, peace and tranquility,  it is the result of a low and insignificant amount of study, reading, awareness and knowledge, which can be seen in third world countries, especially in our society, for example hit The crisis of lack of Study and reading Books, and its low level in Afghanistan has caused our dear country not to be ranked among the countries of the world even at the lowest per capita level of study and reading Books.
Why is a nation that begins its Lord’s speech with the word “Iqra (إقرأ) it means Read, has been not once, but three times, the Prophet of this Ummah has been addressed and starts reading, after reading and receiving the sources of the knowledge of prophethood with the words: “Acquiring the knowledge is the duty of every Muslim“(1) And most importantly, he made matters. And he gave the good news: “If knowledge was in Sky, men from the sons of Fars of my nation would acquire it”(2) But today, he has forgotten his position and shirked his responsibility, and other nations have gone beyond Sky, not this nation! Why is this nation backward and far from the caravan of science and knowledge? And also, with sayings such as “Knowledge and wisdom are lost to the believer, (3) wherever he finds them he deserves them” and encourages the Islamic Ummah to acquire knowledge. So why today science and knowledge, study and reading books more than anything else in the Islamic society have disappeared?
A Umma that comes across hundreds of times with the word’s owners of knowledge (4) and “I wish they knew and will know soon”(5) in their Bible, how did they lose their way? And why have today’s youth faced such a crisis in this country ETC?
Motives of non-study and lack of reading Books
without saying that every phenomenon with rise and fall is caused by causes and factors, the lack of dependence and lack of interest of young people to study and read books in this country also has causes that we mention in this article.
  1. Lack of upbringing with books since childhood
family is the best and most important environment for the healthy education and upbringing of children, and the way of raising and accustoming children in the family environment has the most impact on children’s speech and actions; Therefore, the family environment is the generator and nurturer of children’s performance. Since in most families the culture of studying and reading books has not been promoted, they are aliens from it, parents and elders of the family did not care or paid attention to this matter, children are also not interested in books and reading books; It is like this that the children in our society have not been brought up with books and reading from childhood to adolescence and they have no interest in it. Because they are not used to it, and once they reach a young age, they are busy with many problems and as a result, they stay away from books and reading. So, it can be said: the biggest and most important reason for the lack of dependence on reading and books among young people is the lack of nurturing them from childhood on books and reading.
  1. Not using the virtual world properly
There is no doubt that life in the present age is tied to the virtual world and technology, and each of us is connected with it in a way, and its benefits cannot be denied. The use of virtual world devices such as mobile phone, computer, internet, etc. is one of the important needs of human beings in the contemporary world and plays an important role in the growth and prosperity of talents and society. On the other hand, not using it properly and getting too busy with it has caused bad effects and losses and prevented people from the primary and necessary goals of life. We stayed away, and this has caused us to become more alienated from reading and reading and spend most of our time looking and visiting virtual portals without using it purposefully and correctly.
  1. Misusing from social media
There is no doubt that life in the present age is tied to the virtual world and technology, and each of us is connected with it in a way, and its benefits cannot be denied.   1. Lack of control and being too busy with mobile phones and TV
In our society, there are few families that do not have a television and there are few people who do not have mobile phones with them. The presence of television and mobile phones is not a bad thing, but being busy and looking too much and not controlling it is wrong and inappropriate and has a bad effect on the psyche of people, especially children. Because when children look at television, their thoughts and minds are frozen and stopped and have no development and movement, except for what they have seen and transmit it. And on the other hand, the broadcasting of vulgar and unhealthy programs and the non-existence of useful and beneficial programs; Especially for children and teenagers, it has prevented them from reading and studying. And it is like this that the minds and thoughts of our children and teenagers remain silent and are not revealed and they do not have enough literacy.
  1. Aimless and irregular study
Although Afghanistan is one of the countries that is not included in the global statistics of per capita study; [Also due to the lack of promoting the culture of reading and reading] But in recent years, this culture has been growing and young people have become interested in reading and reading, which is a window of hope in our society. But the problem that exists in a small number of readers is unplanned and aimless and irregular study. This means that the study is not based on the goal of choosing a few useful books in one’s field and profession and finishing their study by a certain time. Some people turn to another book before finishing reading, and after reading a few pages of this book, they put it aside and stop reading. Such a study is also harmful and incorrect and prevents a person from reaching his destination and goal, and the book that is chosen for reading should be finished with difficulty and disinterestedness.
Another example of irregular study is turning to any kind of book on any subject of science without knowing its content or knowing its author and knowing his religion and religion. which in some cases led to intellectual and religious deviation of the reader and perhaps this deviation of the reader has spread to others as well. Therefore, instead of reading every book and collecting every wet and dry, our youth should take up the book and read it with the guidance of experts and experienced professors of the book world to avoid slipping.
Ways to promote the culture of reading and reading
It should be known that studying is the key to the growth and success of an individual and society. By reading, you can learn past and present knowledge from all over the world. By reading, you can restore history and take advice from it. By reading, you can increase the range of mind and memory. By studying, you can bring a nation from the end of decline and degradation to the peak of excellence and progress; So how can the pure culture of study be promoted and what methods should be adopted?
The most important points that can be used to develop the culture of reading and reading in the society and to inculcate the habit of reading and reading from the beginning of childhood and adolescence:
  1. Expansion of personal libraries in homes; especially the library for children at home;
  2. Expansion of libraries in mosques, schools, colleges and universities;
  3. Expansion of mobile libraries in cities;
  4. Expansion of book exhibitions in the country;
  5. Setting up reading contests;
  6. The attention of the media to the culture of reading and books and the broadcasting of programs that are useful for reading and reading and reducing pointless and unhealthy programs;
  7. Creation of specialized public libraries for citizens by the government;
  8. The attention, encouragement and attention of trainers, teachers and professors of schools, colleges and universities to the culture of reading and books;
  9. Carrying a book with you at all times so that we can feel the need for it and get used to it;
  10. Occasionally visiting libraries and exhibitions and buying books; Especially with children.

Regular study program

In order to be interested in books and reading books and to have a purposeful, useful and fruitful study and to be spared from scattering and unplanned study, you can follow this order and division in your study to achieve the best possible result:
  1. Epistemic study of pre-specialization; which is the learning of one’s share of every science. We must have this type of study and we are inevitable; Because the sciences are intertwined and a person does not pass this stage, he cannot enter the specialized valley and skill in reading and reading.
  2. Epistemic study of the specialization stage; which is the same as conquering the peaks of skill and knowledge in a particular field to reach the degrees of innovation and innovation to the border between science and reality.
  3. Lateral cognitive study; Such as studying in the fields of literature, thought, philosophy, history, realism, sociology, politics, flow ology, etc.
  4. educational epistemological study; Such as studying cultivation, lifestyle, how to raise children, how to improve family and society, etc.
  5. auxiliary or informational epistemological study; such as a brief study of some experimental sciences to raise the level of information; so as not to be unaware of the progress of the world.
  6. marginal study; Like stories, novels, etc.
There are also some books that are not written to fulfill the purpose of authorship; Rather, they were written so that the author would have a work to be recognized with after his death, or it was written so that the owner would be prominent. I don’t call reading these kinds of books reading, I call them scattered reading.
Maybe this division of mine is not comprehensive and hinders, and in it entanglement and intermingling can be seen; But it is important to know that the first five types are for action and all of them have a central or at least semi-central position and point in human life. And in this way, the scholars of all religious and experimental sciences are common and do not differ from each other.
As much as the scholar gets immersed in these five types of study, they force him to the field of work and deprive him of peace and stop to remain mobile. This is a practical study and does not keep a person in the fence of fantasy and illusion and isolation. He pulls him to the altar. But the sixth type is the reading of books that a person does not turn to except in the first stages of the habit of reading, or in the later stages to relieve fatigue and variety; This means that the sixth type is not a central study. That’s why I called it “marginal study”. Just as it is marginal, exaggerating it also makes a person marginal and isolated. Those young people who have targeted study, not the means of knowledge and skill and scientific and practical progress, have made this type of marginality central and brought it to the text of their studies. This kind of study gives the opposite result, and instead of improvement, it defeats, and instead of stability, mental disorder and instead of strength, multifold weakness.

At the end of the article, we can say that without studying and reading books, we will never achieve success, science and knowledge; Because the contemporary world belongs to those who read books, study, make progress and polish the rust of their soul and soul with books and study and reach peace; So if we want real peace and comfort, we must study and study.
