The Quran: A Miracle Beyond Time—A Study of Its Miraculous Nature (part 109)
The Miracle of the Noble Qur’an in the Creation of Man
The creation of the human being—from the formation of the sperm drop to the birth of a child—is one of the most complex and astonishing phenomena in existence. This process, centuries before being studied scientifically, was described with precision, depth, and guidance in the Noble Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
What is known today as genetics and embryology is, in reality, a gradual uncovering of truths that divine revelation pointed to more than fourteen centuries ago.
The Noble Qur’an is neither a book of medicine nor a book of biology; rather, it is the speech of the Creator of man. Therefore, whenever it speaks about human creation, its statements align with established scientific realities—and even precede them. This remarkable harmony is considered one of the clearest manifestations of the scientific miracle of the Holy Qur’an.
Genetics in the Light of the Prophetic Sunnah
-
The Mixed Drop (Nutfah Amshaj) and Human Genetic Composition
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) referred in his noble sayings to practical outcomes of hereditary laws, laws that modern genetics has only partially uncovered in recent centuries.
Today, it is established that the fertilized egg (zygote) is a single cell containing chromosomes and genes that determine physical and psychological traits.
Translation: Indeed, we created man from a mixed drop to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing.
-
Consanguineous Marriage and Genetic Transmission
Scientific studies show that marriage between close relatives increases the likelihood of genetic disorders.
[2] Translation: Forbidden to you are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, and other close relatives.
These rulings carry deep wisdom related to health and heredity.

Recommendations for Improving Future Generations
The Arabs used to say: [3]. Translation: Marry from distant families, not close relatives, so that offspring remain healthy.
-
The First Right of a Child: Choosing a Righteous Mother
Islam pays attention to the child even before birth. The first right of a child upon the father is to choose a righteous mother. [4]
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “A woman is married for four reasons: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty, and her religion.” So choose the one with religion; may you prosper.
This guidance forms a fundamental foundation for the moral, psychological, and social well-being of future generations. [5]

Stages of Human Development
[6] Translation: We created man from an extract of clay, then made him a drop in a secure place, then a clinging form, then a lump, then bones, and clothed the bones with flesh; then We produced him as another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.
-
The Difference Between “Thumma” and “Fa”
The Qur’an uses precise wording to describe stages of development, indicating both delay and rapid succession—something confirmed by modern embryology.
Agreement Between Embryology and the Prophetic Hadith

The Hadith of Forty-Two Nights
[7]. Translation: When forty-two nights pass over the drop, Allah sends an angel who shapes it and forms its hearing, sight, skin, flesh, and bones.
[8] Translation: He does not speak from his own desire; it is nothing but revelation revealed.
Conclusion
In summary, the Qur’an and the Sunnah describe human creation in a way that aligns with modern science and often precedes it. This harmony is clear evidence that the Qur’an is the word of the Creator, who knows the secrets of His creation.
[9] Translation: So blessed is Allah (SWT), the best of creators.
