    Satanism (part 33)

    Strategies for Countering Satanism
    1. Preventive Strategies (Continued)
    Culture and Education
    Culture and education are the two primary domains that shape individual characteristics and guide intellectual orientations within society. The rise and decline of societies depend largely on the nature of the educational system and the prevailing cultural framework. Therefore, paying close attention to these two factors in confronting ideological and intellectual deviations constitutes one of the fundamental requirements in combating the Satanist movement. This objective can be addressed through the following measures: [1]
    1. Paying special attention to the religious education of adolescents and youth;
    2. Conducting serious reviews of religious and doctrinal subjects in schools and educational institutions, and delivering these lessons with high quality;
    3. Explaining the deviations of contemporary destructive sects, particularly Satanism;
    4. Purifying markets from manifestations of Satanism and firmly confronting its promoters;
    5. Conducting in-depth analysis and careful evaluation of curricula in schools and universities;
    6. Emphasizing ethical conduct in schools and educational institutions in light of the teachings of Islam;
    7. Holding open forums to respond to contemporary doubts (especially those related to deviant sects) for students and university attendees;
    8. Promoting religious culture and Islamic brotherhood;
    9. Creating employment opportunities, establishing healthy recreational environments, and reducing unreasonable and unnecessary pressures on society—especially on young people;
    10. Emphasizing a spirit of collectivism in advancing social affairs and creating hopeful and uplifting centers for members of society.
    Media (Visual and Audio)
    There is no doubt that the rapid expansion of mass communication tools—especially media—across the contemporary world has brought about a remarkable transformation in the field of communication. Through optimal utilization of this development, modern humanity has been able to fill its informational and communicative gaps in an astonishing manner. However, some groups and movements have misused this opportunity to create deviation and lead society toward moral and ideological decline.
    The deviant and atheistic sect of Satanism is one such group that, through the use of the internet—whether in virtual spaces or mass media—has been widely engaged in disseminating its misleading programs.
    To confront the onslaught of this deviant movement, paying attention to media—both as a means of countering Satanism and preventing its spread—is essential. Some of the necessary measures include: [2]
    1. Improving the qualitative and quantitative standards of religious programs;
    2. Establishing and launching professional Islamic media outlets with diverse, purposeful religious programming;
    3. Utilizing new technological capacities to enhance the effectiveness of religious programs;
    4. Designing educational programs in religious, economic, political, and recreational fields that are suitable for youth;
    5. Entrusting media-related work to committed specialists;
    6. Benefiting from scholars and experts in religious affairs to clarify Islamic rulings in the contemporary world;
    7. Avoiding extremism in the presentation of religion;
    8. Producing and presenting religious programs aimed at solving individual, familial, and social problems;
    9. Facilitating access to religious experts through audio and visual media;
    10. Introducing exemplary religious role models and presenting their lives for emulation;
    11. Taking legal action against media outlets that violate the law and promote social corruption.
    Family and Society
    The two elements of family and society constitute the foundation of the Muslim community. Attention or neglect toward these elements has a direct impact on the progress or decline of a country and the Islamic nation. Therefore, in confronting atheistic groups—especially Satanism—priority must be given to strengthening family and social structures. Examples of such measures include:
    1. Restoring the status of the family and emphasizing its role in nurturing future generations;
    2. Developing national programs for the upbringing of children within the family environment;
    3. Encouraging collective activities at the family level;
    4. Compiling and publishing books, magazines, and articles to guide family education administrators;
    5. Incorporating family-related subjects (such as characteristics of a healthy family) into school and university curricula to enhance awareness and elevate the status of the family;
    6. Introducing and honoring families that have succeeded in raising well-educated children;
    7. Creating coordination between family-based educational programs and those of media, schools, and universities;
    8. Providing continuous guidance for family leaders through mosque sermons;
    9. Promoting constructive and meaningful family travel;
    10. Strengthening family relationships;
    11. Facilitating marriage for young people;
    12. Holding Islamic educational sessions and lessons on the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) at home;
    13. Addressing the economic conditions of families and meeting the reasonable financial needs of young people;
    14. Promoting a culture of reading and establishing home libraries;
    15. Utilizing the capacities of family members to resolve challenges within the household;
    16. Managing young people’s leisure time and creating employment opportunities to prevent deviation;
    17. Establishing appropriate sports and recreational facilities and managing them through relevant authorities;
    18. Establishing libraries and encouraging reading by organizing reading circles, competitions, writing programs, and similar activities at district and provincial levels.
