Humanism (Part 12)
Humanism Confronting the Muslim! (Continued)
The most intense and terrifying thing that frightens the enemies of Islam about Islam is the spirit of jihad concealed within it!
The contemporary Canadian orientalist Wilfred Cantwell Smith admits in one place that Europe cannot forget the fear and terror it experienced for several centuries due to Islamic conquests. He states:
Nothing in the modern era equals this fear and terror, not even Europe’s fear of the communist domination of Czechoslovakia in 1948. [1]
The American orientalist Robert Payne (Robert Payne), in the introduction to his book The Sacred Sword, says: We have strong reasons to study and examine the Arabs and to become acquainted with their methods. In the past, they brought the entire world under their control, and they will do so again! For the fire that Muhammad PBUH ignited still burns powerfully, and there are a thousand reasons to believe that this flame will never be extinguished. [2]
We entrust the future to the knowledge of Allah Almighty, Glorified and Exalted, for we do not know what the condition of Muslims will be tomorrow. Therefore, we turn our gaze to the present time and point to the fear of Islam’s enemies of the latent spirit of jihad within the Ummah.
Europe has never possessed power comparable to what it has today, nor did it attain its growing prosperity except through colonizing the Islamic world, plundering its resources, enslaving its people, and bringing them under its domination.
What would happen if the spirit of jihad were awakened among Muslims, and they expelled colonialism in all its outward and inward forms; political, military, and economic, and reclaimed their sovereignty over their land, lives, wealth, thoughts, and conscience?
If such an event were to occur, what condition would Europe be in? And where would the prosperity it enjoys today go if Muslims retained their own resources or sold them to Europe through free trade at their true and fair value?
And where would Europe’s immense military, scientific, and material power go if its resources were reduced, and if its goods, which today are distributed among backward nations to generate enormous profits, were to fall into stagnation?
Never! The enemies of Islam never wish for the latent spirit of jihad in the Ummah to awaken, even if Robert Payne’s statement never materializes. Such words agitate the nerves of the West, prompting it to intensify pressure on Muslims and to deny them any opportunity for resurgence, or more precisely, to deny them any opportunity to return to the true Islam they lost due to the process of “Westernization.”
The call of humanism is among the weapons of war that target the spirit of jihad in Muslims.
They say: My brother! The world has changed, so do not speak of jihad! Or if you must, speak only of defensive jihad, and even then, speak of it sparingly and in a very limited manner! For this does not suit “civilized humanism” today!
Jihad belonged to a specific historical context, and that era has passed! Today, humanity has become one family! International law and international organizations now exist to restore your rights and resolve your issues through “diplomatic” means! And if these bodies fail to restore your plundered rights, only then may you fight for your rights, but do not call it jihad! For the era of jihad has ended; therefore, call it defense of legitimate rights!!!
But beware of openly calling for jihad! For today, there are “humanitarian” means for spreading the message, such as books, radio, television, conferences, and teaching. You may use these if you wish, but do not speak of jihad, or else you will face severe criticism from so-called civilized people!
Islam: the religion of Allah Almighty is characterized by absolute clarity and ultimate decisiveness. It neither evades nor twists nor deceives through slogans.
Translation: “He is the One who created you, and among you are disbelievers and among you are believers. [3]
Translation: “Are those who know equal to those who do not know. [4]
Translation: The blind and the seeing are not equal, nor are darkness and light, nor shade and scorching heat; and the living and the dead are not equal. [5]
Islam also declares, with full clarity and decisiveness, that the loyalty (walāʾ) of a Muslim belongs only to Allah, His Messenger, and the believers, and that loyalty outside of these is not permissible.
Translation: Your ally is none but Allah, His Messenger, and the believers. [6]
Translation: Let not the believers take disbelievers as allies instead of believers; and whoever does so have no connection with Allah whatsoever. [7]
Translation: O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies; they are allies of one another. Whoever among you allies with them is indeed one of them. [8]
And with absolute clarity and decisiveness, Islam establishes that jihad for the propagation of the Islamic call remains until the Day of Resurrection.
Translation: “Fight them until there is no fitnah and the religion becomes entirely for Allah.” [9]
