The Phenomenon of Atheism and Ways to Combat It (Part One)
Preface
الحمد لله رب العالمین، والصلاة والسلام على سیدنا محمد، سید المرسلین، وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعین، وعلى من تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.
Although initially I had no interest in studying or researching the topic of atheism, nor did I intend to write an article or thesis on the subject, due to the insistence and emphasis of some friends and cultural activists who highlighted the importance of this issue, and being aware of the fact that after the events of September 11, 2001, a group of English atheists, under the label of “New Atheism,” began promoting their views using seemingly scientific approaches, publishing books in simple and understandable language that were widely advertised, I decided to address this issue. Now, with numerous websites and pages promoting atheism—which have negative impacts on thoughts and ideas—the importance of countering this movement is felt more than ever.
For this reason, I felt that every individual who is equipped with pen and thought and possesses knowledge and culture should, to the best of their ability, take action to confront this challenge. Therefore, in order to examine the issue of atheism and combat it, I have begun this research and will reflect its results in this thesis. I hope that this work will not only help increase our knowledge and understanding of current issues but also serve as a starting point for invitational and research activities in religious and doctrinal fields.
This article includes the following topics:
1. The definition of atheism and its various types.
2. The history of atheism: past, present, statistics, and data.
3. The factors and reasons behind the spread of atheism and irreligion worldwide.
4. Atheism and anti-religion sentiment in the Islamic world and the factors contributing to its spread.
5. The negative consequences and impacts of atheism on the psychological, moral, social, and political aspects of human life.
Methods of combating Atheism:
This article provides a general overview of atheism and ways to combat it; however, a detailed confrontation with this major issue should include examining the various doubts and objections raised by atheists. Each of these doubts should be thoroughly examined, and convincing and comprehensive answers should be provided. In other words, this thesis serves as an introduction to the detailed resolution and elimination of various objections and doubts raised by atheists regarding religion. If Allah, the Almighty, grants success, work will also be done in this field at the appropriate time.
In the end, I humbly ask the Almighty Lord to make my intentions and heartfelt resolve in all matters, especially in this writing, purely for His pleasure. Additionally, may what He has granted me the ability to accomplish be beneficial for His servants and accepted as righteous deeds.
