The Importance of Security in Islam (Part 20)
    8. Political Security: Political security pertains to the political and organizational stability of countries and government systems, as well as the ideologies that lend them legitimacy. Politics has various meanings, including intensity, sharpness, and strength. However, the meaning of politics that is most relevant to our discussion is the planning and utilization of political strategies in leading and directing societal affairs. In other words, it involves proper management of state or societal affairs. Political security implies that the political discourse and education within a society are transparent, free from hypocrisy and double standards. It also requires that those responsible for communicating political issues to the public be trustworthy.
    9. Environmental Security: Adherence to environmental regulations is crucial for the survival and continuity of the human race and other organisms within the ecosystem. Neglecting these issues can endanger thousands of lives. Currently, some major countries disregard environmental laws, threatening human life by polluting the atmosphere and degrading the environment. Environmental security means safeguarding the environment from all factors related to it, such as air, water, plains, and deserts. It includes preventing the deforestation of valuable productive forests and trees, stopping encroachment on these areas, and enforcing necessary preventive laws against violators to protect the environment.
    10. International and Global Security: The significance of external security dimensions is equal to that of internal dimensions. This aspect establishes communication between governments, forming an international system. One of the primary objectives of international security is to prevent conflicts and wars that could threaten the external security of states. Without security, many governments could collapse, resulting in the emergence of new governments and civilizations. Occasionally, neglecting this security leads to widespread suffering due to carelessness and inattention.
Generally, international security refers to the condition in which every country enjoys safety and peace within its own borders, free from external threats. It represents a state of balance among powers, with no infringement on each other’s territories, ensuring that the status quo is secure. Whenever one power exceeds its limits, international security is deemed “in danger” from the perspective of opposing powers.
The aforementioned issues are among the factors that threaten international and global security, and historically, they have caused devastating wars.
    11. Announcement and Media Security: One of the most important tools available to humanity today is the media. Mass media can facilitate communication between numerous nations but can also contribute to the deterioration of friendly relations between countries. Therefore, it is essential to ensure the security of the media and to maintain its integrity in every aspect.
Another significant form of security is Intellectual Security. This is crucial in human life; when a person’s mind, thoughts, and spirit are secure, it becomes easier to address other challenges to some extent.
Some texts mention additional types of security. According to their perspectives, the authors have attempted to categorize various forms of security. In the book “Economic Security” by Ahmad Samir, several other types of security are outlined as follows:
    1. Personal Security
    2. Food Security
    3. Health Security
    4. Environmental Security
    5. Economic Security
    6. Social Security
    7. Political Security
Although some of these types were mentioned earlier, others may be new. All these types are explained in the cited book; please refer to it for more details.
