Imam Azam, May Allah Have Mercy on Him, as One of the Tabi’in
Allamah Ibn Hajar Makki, may Allah have mercy on him, writes in the description of Mishkat: “Imam Abu Hanifah, may Allah have mercy on him, saw seven of the Sahaba (Companions), may Allah be pleased with them; among them were Hazrat Anas, Abdullah bin Abi Ufi, Sahl bin Sa’ad, and Abu Tafil, may Allah be pleased with them.”
“Nu’man (Abu Hanifah) is honored by what he narrated from the most prominent of the Companions.”
Allamah Kharazmi, may Allah have mercy on him, states in the “Musnad of the Imam”: “The scholars agree that Imam Sahib has narrations from the Sahaba, but there is a difference regarding the number of those narrations, whether six, seven, or eight.”
Allameh Kardari, may Allah have mercy on him, observes: “Some Hadith scholars have denied that Imam Azam, may Allah have mercy on him, met with the Sahaba; however, his students have proven this with documentation and have compiled his “Masanid”, and Imam Sahib has narrated fifty of them from the Sahaba.”
The Professors of Imam Abu Hanifah, May Allah Have Mercy on Him
Some of the professors of Imam Azam (may Allah have mercy on him) include: Hazrat Atta, Nafeh, Abd al-Rahman bin Hormuz Ahraj, Udi bin Sabit, Salma bin Kaheel, Ibn Ja’afar Muhammad bin Ali, Qatadah, Amr bin Dinar, and Abu Ishaq, may Allah have mercy on them.
The Students of Imam Abu Hanifah, May Allah Have Mercy on Him

Allamah Muhammad bin Yusuf Salehi states in Anqoud al-Jam’an: “Abu Muayid Kharazmi, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from Imam Muhammad bin Ali Zaranjri, may Allah have mercy on him, that Imam Abu Hafs Kabir, may Allah have mercy on him, was ordered to count the elders of Imam Azam, may Allah have mercy on him, and upon counting, they numbered four thousand.”

    Imam’s Writings in Jurisprudence
The following is a collection of some jurisprudential works by Imam Abu Hanifah, may Allah have mercy on him, which were widely published and well-known among the Islamic Ummah during his time and were available to many religious leaders. One of these scholars was Imam Malik bin Anas (may Allah have mercy on him) (died 179 AH), who possessed the books of Imam Abu Hanifah and utilized them.
Furthermore, Amir al-Mu’minin of Hadith, Imam Abdullah bin Mubarak Hanafi (died 181 AH), consistently carried these books, even on long journeys. At times, he would adapt materials from them and write them into a separate book.
These works, which Imam Malik had, contained 60,000 jurisprudential issues. If we consider that each book contained around two thousand issues, the total number of these books would reach more than thirty volumes.
