    Homosexuality (Part 3)
Doing an Act Against Nature with the Wife
Just as intimacy with men from behind has been criticized and condemned, intimacy with women from behind has also been prohibited and forbidden. By examining the narrations, it is found that the people of Lut, before they had sex with men, also committed this heinous act with their women.
In a narration from Ibn Abi al-Duniya from Tawoos, may Allah have mercy on him, it is said: “Indeed, the people of Lut used to have sex with their wives from behind and later with the men.” Also, Hazrat Mujahid, may Allah have mercy on him, in the interpretation of the verse: «إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ», says: “They (Hazrat Lut, may Allah have mercy on him and his companions) are people who consider themselves to be free from the behind of men and women.” A similar narration has been reported from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). It follows from this narration that they used to have sex with men and women from behind.
The sin and crime of the Lut clan is greater than adultery. The act of buggery (lewat) is a sin that leads to the destruction of cities; a person who engages in the act of buggery is in danger of dying in disbelief and entering hell. This act is considered one of the greatest evils, and its punishment is greater and more severe than that of adultery.
Some unruly, deviant, and weak-willed people have no qualms about engaging in buggery with their spouses and do not avoid it. They should know that this act is one of the major sins, and the Prophet (PBUH) has cursed those who commit it. It was narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said, “Cursed is the one who has sexual relations with his wife from behind.” Likewise, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever has sexual relations with his wife during her period, or performs sexual intercourse with her, or goes to a magician, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him).”
In fact, many women of good nature avoid this act; however, their husbands threaten them with divorce if they do not agree.
Some people take advantage of the ignorance of their spouses and claim that buggery is halal by reciting this verse: «نِسَاؤُکُمْ حَرْثٌ لَّکُمْ فَأتُوْا حَرْثَکُمْ أنَّی شِئْتُمْ»
It should be known that the hadith interprets the Qur’an, and in many hadiths, the prohibition of this action is mentioned, as stated above. Additionally, the back way is the place of dirt, not the way of giving birth to a child or the place of cultivation. Allamah Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked about buggery with a woman, and he replied: “The sanctity of buggery with a woman is established by the Book and the Sunnah, and the opinion of the predecessors and successors is on its sanctity; rather, it is referred to as minor buggery.”
