Morals of the Prophet “PBUH” (3rd part)
Qur’anic Examples of the Prophet’s Morals
Gentleness, compassion, and mercy are the characteristics of the Prophet of Mercy, who exemplified love and mercy through listening to the words and concerns of the believers. His extraordinary compassion for the Ummah and humility towards the believers stand out.
1. Gentleness
Almighty Allah has said: «فَبِما رَحْمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ لِنْتَ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ كُنْتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ الْقَلْبِ لَانْفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِكَ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشاوِرْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ فَإِذا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ».
“O our Messenger! Because of Allah’s grace and mercy, you have become kind to people, and if you were harsh and hard-hearted, they would have scattered away from you. So, forgive them, seek forgiveness for them, and consult with them in matters. When you decide to do something (after consultation and exchange of views), do it firmly and put your trust in Allah, because Allah loves those who trust.”
It is Allah’s mercy that made the Prophet kind and gentle for the Ummah. If the Prophet had been arrogant and hard-hearted, hearts would not have gathered around him; Children and adults wouldn’t attracted to him; Because human beings need a kind shelter, endless attention, magnanimous kindness, and love and kindness that will embrace them in its loving arms. Humans need a big heart that has compassion for them, not that they are in need of their generosity and forgiveness, and that takes the burden of their many sorrows, not that he burdens his sorrows with their sorrows.
Yes, they need a sorrowful heart, not a sorrowful one. They are looking for a big heart that always shows them attention, kindness, magnanimity, kindness and love and takes care of them and cleans them from their impurities with pleasure. The heart of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was like this. His life with people was like this. He never got angry for his own sake and never missed their human weakness and never got bored. Never leave the mortal goods of this world for yourself and don’t try to accumulate it. Rather, what he had access to, he generously gave to the people and extended his tolerance, magnanimity, compassion and kindness to them. None of them socialized with him or saw him unless his heart was filled with love for him; Because the Prophet, peace be upon him, used to pour out the stream of generosity and generosity from the fountain of his great and generous soul.
2. Kindness and mercy
Allah Almighty has said: «لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَؤُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ».
“Indeed, a prophet has come to you from among yourselves, every suffering you suffer is dear to him, and he is a strong supporter of you, and he is generous and kind to the believers.
In the above verse, he first said: “A prophet came to you from among yourselves.” interpretation«مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ»
It shows the intensity of the Prophet’s connection and interest to the people; It is as if it is a part of people’s lives. Then he pointed out some of the valuable qualities of the Prophet and said: “Any inconvenience, loss, or damage that befalls you is very upsetting for him.” It means that he will not only not be pleased with your discomfort, but he will not be indifferent either. He suffers greatly from your sufferings, and if he insists on guiding you and fighting exhausting battles, it is to save you and free you from the clutches of oppression, sin, and misery.
Then he says: “He is very interested in your guidance” and is greedy for it. “Greed” in the word means intense interest in something, and it is interesting that in the verse in question it says absolutely: «حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُمْ»،
He does not mention guidance or anything else. This indicates that he loves your every good and happiness and your progress and happiness.
