    Colonialism (Part 20th)

    Australian forces war crimes

Another country invading Afghanistan, which has a very dark military record and has committed countless crimes in this country, is Australia. The soldiers of this country have killed Afghans in different situations and times and in different ways. These cases then became known as the “Afghan Files” and a person named “David McBride”, an Australian whistleblower, revealed these crimes to the Australian News Agency, which produced and classified them.

The Afghan file is a collection of Australian Defense Force documents about Australian special forces operations in Afghanistan. These documents covered a variety of topics, but what drew attention were the details related to several cases of unlawful killing of unarmed men and children.

These documents and evidence cover a wide range of topics, including numerous cases of unlawful killings and war crimes against unarmed civilians. These documents contain at least ten cases of illegal killing of unarmed men and children. Two of these ten events, both in September 2013. It happened, and it is currently under investigation by the Australian Defense Force.

    Uruzgan massacre

One of these events is about a father and a son from Uruzgan province, both of whom were unarmed. “Basmillah Azadi” and his son “Sadiqullah” were martyred during the raid and attack of the Australian aggressor forces in Uruzgan province. The Australian aggressors claimed that Bismillah had aimed the gun at the Australian forces, but contrary to this claim, when the soldiers arrived on the scene the next day, they found the two martyred on the same bed together, which is a sign of It is that they were martyred while sleeping.[2]

In the same province in 2012. Also, one of the aggressive Australian soldiers killed an Afghan man while he was working on his farm and land. This soldier’s name is “Oliver Shultz”, and the Australian court has considered him to be accused of war crimes.

Also, these documents included the case of a war crime in which an aggressor Australian soldier shot and killed a prisoner when he was alone with a prisoner and the prisoner tried to take his weapon.

In another case, the invading Australian soldiers in 2013. An Afghan man was martyred while he was riding his motorcycle and the woman who was riding behind him was also injured.[3]

    The event of severed hands

This action was another criminal and brutal action of the Australian aggressor forces, in this case they cut off the fingers of Mujahideen and martyrs who were martyred in the battle with them and kept them with them for fingerprints.

    [2] – The same report.

[3] – All three cases of war crimes mentioned in the abc news report entitled “Killing of Afghan boys” on 2/24/2020. It has been published.

Prior to this event, Australian special forces were searching for an important target of the Australian government, nicknamed “Target Sword”. For this purpose, they were looking for one of the Mujahideen who, according to them, was responsible for countless attacks. More than 120 soldiers and military planes participated in this search operation. In a flight in Zabul Province, four Mujahideen were martyred. One of the corporals of the Australian forces had tried and examined the bodies and then cut off a hand from each of the Mujahideen with a cane. In this operation, the invading Australian soldiers were obliged to collect fingerprints and eye scans of every Mujahideen member who was martyred, if possible.

This crime was while this act of cutting off a body part of a dead person is considered a violation of the laws of war according to the aggressors’ own laws of war. After this incident, Capt. Andrew Hastie was upset about this incident and reported it to his superior.

Members of the Australian military blamed a training session held just nine days before the incident in which hand amputations were explicitly allowed.[1]

Cases of war crimes and aggressor soldiers

The cases of war crimes by the Australian forces, which have been spread in this report by the Australian whistleblower, have been clearly seen in the testimony of at least 39 unarmed and innocent Afghan people. In this case, at least 35 members of the Australian Air Force are accused and directly involved in these war crimes.[2]

The works of broadcasting the war crimes report of Australians

The aggressor countries always consider themselves to be the cradle of civilization and freedom of speech and they always accuse other countries of violating these cases, but Australia immediately attacked the office of the broadcaster after revealing the cases of war crimes committed by its soldiers in Afghanistan. On June 5, 2019, the Australian Federal Police raided the headquarters of the ABC network in Sydney, Australia, and tried there for eight hours, which, according to the report, was the reason for the Afghanistan cases.

The raid was immediately met with widespread public criticism, and a request for open access to information from the event revealed that Australian forces were deliberately targeting journalists, and that there were even plans to prosecute the journalists involved.[3]

This attack, which was strongly opposed to the issue of freedom of speech, was even brought to the Senate of Australia, and they doubted and condemned this action of the defense forces. Not only did this attack not stop here, but some time ago it was announced that the whistleblower of war crimes will be tried in a court and must be held accountable for tampering with confidential documents! As a result of this issue, Mr. David McBride admitted his mistake in this regard and asked for forgiveness from the Australian government.[4]

    Suicide of aggressor soldiers

Another effect that the disclosure of the war crimes of the Australian special forces had was the unprecedented trend of suicide of the soldiers who were involved in these war crimes. “Daily Mail” newspaper has reported that in this case, one female and eight male soldiers of the Australian forces
